Guys, before you go into the nonsense and the usual other stuff, how about we read the blog, or at least try and discuss the points made in it for a while. Let's try and be normal human beings - just for a bit.

That's the problem with this type of rules. Interpretation.

Make it clear. With no room for interpretation.

there needs to be some room for interpretation, as you can't predict every possible situation that could arise.

I'd allow every goal that is deflected/kicked by a skate. but that's me.

I don't mind them.

Unintentional sticks to the face are punished too, aren't they?

I'd rather go the other way, and allow none, but that's also just me.

I dislike that rule only insofar as when a puck that is already in the air, if swatted at by a defender that ends up over the glass, is a penalty. There's no way that you can say he was trying to delay the game. Pucks shot from the ice surface, regardless of whether it was on purpose or not, I'm fine with. It's those bouncing/floating pucks that are frustrating.

So we've heard.

But wait - on your own net as well? All those goals Mike Lalor scored on his own net wouldn't have counted!!!

I'll go even further, why stop the play when the puck end up in the secutity net behind the goals? If the puck comes back on the ice, resume play and go on!
They need to think outside the box to improve the game, but we all know they won't.

Can they possibly pull this off with the guys they have left? Budaj in nets doesn't concern me, but I don't know if they have the will or the talent to pull this off.

i think it's gas in the tank that's empty. perfect example last night. they played up tempo for 2 periods but couldn't sustain it for 3. this team is just not built for a long run whether it be an 82 game shedule or the playoffs.

the reason they have the no kicking rule is because they don't want people going in there swinging their feet wildly to try kick the puck

And if they allowed kicking, that would become more common

grey areas suck
