Dupuis, because he's more of the kind of player you need. |

I would agree with most of what EE is saying but maybe not all of it.
Watching the game last night I immediately thought the goal wouldn't be counted. I saw it from a few different angles and it went from being no goal to be gray. The NHL made their final decision 2-1 it was. The people reviewing the goal would need distinct evidence to state it wasn't a goal, that evidence I guess wasn't there. If it were called no goal on the play, then I would imagine the call on the play would have stood and we would have had a completed different result.
I don't always agree with the NHL (Chara hit on Patches back in 2011), but there are certain things that area gray and I don't get paid to make those decisions nor would I want to. I didn't think the Gryba hit was a head shot, nor did TSN, Sportsnet, the Score, or most of the rest of the world but the NHL did so therefore it is what it is. Unfortunately last night one of these gray area decisions went in favour of the other team. I am still on the fence.
The Habs outplayed the Senators in the first period as far as I am concerned. It didn't look good for the Sens going into the third period but then the Senators turned it on. They outplayed the Habs in the third period, and enough so to get two goals.
The icings were stretched out. Sure if number 55 is going back then it is expected that it will take 20-30 minutes for him the reach the read line. Gonchar is 56 years old, I guess it's excusable. As for Mr. Karlsson? Well there is no doubt he could have got there a little quicker and maybe the icing should have been waived off. But then again, maybe his achilies is still bothering him (joking of course). So they got away with one there (maybe two), and yes the face off was in wrong side of the ice, but did the Habs not put out there best faceoff man anyways (this is not retorical, I am actually asking)?
All things aside this series is getting interesting. The scoreboard read 3-2 but maybe things weren't so cut and dry. I don't think this is the same as the 93 high stick on Gilmour which the leafs are still complaining about but I'm sure the Habs fans will soon forget all of this as the series if far from over. Being a fan of both teams but owning more Senators jersey's I would think that the constant complaining by Terrien has got old. Fact of the matter is 2 goals went in one net, and 3 went in the other. If the team truly deserved to win the result would have been different. Outplaying a team 2/3's of the time is not enough to be deserving of a win. Just my thoughts.
I feel as though both teams are evenly matched with each team excelling in certain aspects of the the game. Anderson has outplayed Price, and Maclean has out coached Terrien. The rest has been a wash. If Anderson was still hurt would this series still be going? |

20 goals without any PP time is pretty good if you as me. He plays all PK.
Sure Habs need to get bigger, but if you have a choice between Ryder and Dupuis... |

Jeff Halpern has to be out there for the last shift of the game. No matter what. With Tomas Plekanec.
Incidentally, those were by far, by far, the two best players in the game for either team. - EricEngels
Looking back not a great idea having Prust on at the end either. He was obviously hurt and couldn't even push himself off the ice when he fell. |

They need to get tougher and they need players that don't disappear if the game gets physical.
Ryder is one of the few forward positions that can be changed next year without getting screwed in a trade.
Nothing will change if you switch him for another soft player. (if he is soft, i don't know, that's why i asked)
We need every player on the team to play like Gallagher, big, small, round, skinny, fountain, thin, black, white or whatever.

As for the icings... well.. if MTL is so angry about the lack of energy in the skating of the Sens they should blame themselves for firing the puck down the ice and not chipping it into the neutral zone or crarrying the puck over center before dumping it. Icing is there as a penalty towards tired and sloppy play. |
