So do I. But I am also not sure it was a distinct kicking motion. The icings irk me more than that call. But nothing irks me more than who was on the ice for the tying goal. - hscesq
I am still convinced it was a kicking motion. It wouldn't be the first video review that got pooched.
I agree on the icings; for swift skaters like Karlsson and Gonchar, they sure had a tough time skating back to get those pucks. |

And yet, there was Michael Ryder on with Tomas Plekanec and Rene Bourque to protect a one-goal lead with less than a minute to play. No sign of Jeff Halpern, who very well might have been the best Canadien on the night. There was Raphael Diaz instead of Norris candidate P.K. Subban.
I told you he's being out coached 3 games ago. - pete26
even with halpern and subban, habs have had recent bad playoff ot luck from that spot.

As a sens fan, I agree that the icing calls were two of the worst calls I've ever seen.
You could see Karlsson trying his hardest not to smile, ear to ear, after that one. CBC caught a close up him holding back the smile. He still let out a little grin. He knew exactly what he did there.
As for the goal, that was a goal, regardless of how the refs called it. If you watch it in slow motion, the 'kicking motion' happened after the puck left Zibby's foot. He 'directed' it in (ie he changed the direction of his skate - which is legal) and it looked like he went for a slight kick, but that only happened after the puck hit his skate.

this is correct. the bottom like though is that if your team is in the situation the habs were in yesterday, of staring down a barrel, they take a 2-0 lead in the third and they find the most creative ways to blow it then it was pretty much meant to be. - dt99999
Perhaps. But the control one has, is who should be on the ice. Who MT selected makes no sense to me. |

The choice of personnel in that third period is as mind-boggling as any coaching decision I have ever seen. Even if he is justified keeping #27 on the bench because he is a rookie (and I don't agree if that was his plan), how do you have Ryder on the ice and not Halpern, or even Dumont in the last minute? It is unbelievable to me how this man's coaching has gone downhill since the playoffs started. To me, this is the old Therrien. - hscesq
Absolutely. Reminescent of the whole "let's not have Yannick Perrault take an important face-off so we can lose to the Canes" fiasco of his first tenure.
As for 27, rookie or not, there is just no way to justifie having him play more than 5 minutes less than DD, who's been MIA since about February. |

I think it was probably a good goal. But EE is correct in saying that had it been called no goal on the ice, it probably would not have been reversed. |

He was. It just goes to show that this team has a ways to go though. just seems they can't get it all together at the same time. |

Agreed, but he fought the puck all night and was shaky at time. Overall on 4 games, simply not good enought. |

I disagree. Last night was the first game in some time, where he looked to NOT be fighting the puck. |

I think if it weren't debatable, there wouldn't be a debate. It's not clear cut enough to reverse a call, which is precisely what I'm arguing.

the rule is written in a ridiculous way.
chances are when everybody reads a rule and nobody agrees as to what it means then it's a silly rule. |
