Nice. Blues screw up the entire shift, and Williams scores on the deflection in front. That's going to stand, too - it wasn't a high stick. Somehow, you just knew the way this was going the Kings were inevitably going to take the lead.

Kings 4, Blues 3.

- Chip McCleary

Goodness, McDonald is a turnover MACHINE. And yet Tarasenko gets 40seconds of ice time each period.

And also, Polak has been BRUTAL.

Best of 3 with zero momentum. Time for bed.

Barring something really unexpected here, we're going back to St. Louis with this series turned into a best-of-3 and the Kings riding a ton of momentum.

LA's +35 Corsi.

I know these are two of the best possession teams in the league, but that's insane.

It's criminal this is a first-round match-up.

Surprisingly, shots this period are only 7-4 in favor of LA. It feels like it's more like 16-4.

Backes with a great chance in front, and he gets robbed by Quick. Not what the Blues need to see right now.

Yeah it sucks, but there is plenty of time and anything can happen. Way to stick with your team!

Full credit to the Kings; they could have folded down 2-0 early, but there's a reason they're the defending Cup champions - and they surely taught the Blues a lesson tonight. It remains to be seen if the Blues learned anything.

Like I said, it's now a best-of-3; Blues hold home ice still, Kings are riding momentum. Write-up in the morning.

King's certainly earned the win. Good news is that the Kings are not the Kings from last year on the road.

Hitch won't, but he should sit McDonald.

The 3rd period is what we saw all last year in playoffs! We have ourselves a series!

The Blues when they push the pace are my favorites to win the Cup. When they sit back like they did in the 3rd, they'll be lucky to win another game in this series. You can't sit on a 1-goal playoff lead, even sitting back an entire period with a 2-goal lead (especially against a bigger team in LA) isn't the best course of action. Blues need to get back to pushing the pace and maintaining puck possession, don't collapse. At least not to the extent that they did last night for an entire period.

That has been their issue all season. This team has absolutely sucked with the lead, and it's either the goalie bails you out, or you lose.

I put this loss squarely on hitch's shoulders. Bringing in Tank was the right move, but breaking up the only reliable line was a huge mistake. And if you're only going to play someone 6 minutes, it's a wasted roster spot, would have been better just to leave it alone. This is not a 3 line team, and we are not effective at all rolling 3 lines.

The CPR line is -1 in game 3 and their few minutes evaporate. I'm with you. We have to roll 4 lines and have to stay agressive on the pressure/forecheck. When we don't we are bad.

Chip and other blues fans.....

I had to dvr the game last night because of work and my own hockey. I won't be able to watch the dvr before game 5 due to work and my own hockey schedule. I saw the NHL Tonight highlights in the wee hours of the AM.

Do you think it's worth watching if I don't get a chance to do so until Thursday night at the earliest? I usually don't take the time to watch if I can't get to it within a day or two.

Don't waste your time especially if you already saw the highlights...
