GOAL! Oshie gets his 2nd of the night, this one on the rebound from a bad angle over Quick. Saturday night, that would have been off the crossbar, off the far post, over the crossbar, into the side of the net, ...

Blues 3, Kings 2. Now, they have to hold this and not give the Kings an easy chance to lay one in.

Blues showing signs of shelling up. They better stay somewhat aggressive if this will be tied before they know it.

I see the Kings are taking Perron's lead.

Jackman in the box after a scrum. Surprised they called anything at all.

Now Carter and Pietrangelo go to the box. $2 says Carter wouldn't have gone by himself.

That was a b.s. call both ways.

That ... was not a B.S. call on Jackman by any stretch.

Well now they are calling EVERYTHING... ugh

Is there a hockey equivalent to #umpshow?

Lazy penalty by Kopitar there; the leg coming out was inadvertent but clearly resulted in a trip.

If you remember when Denis Morel was a referee, ... that was it. The most recent, probably better-known example was Mick McGeough.

Reaves got boarded by Regehr; no call. Reaves went straight to the bench.

I think he's hurt in a big way, to be honest.

Magoo I remember, not so much Morel. But yeah, good call (he always looked like he had quite a few the night before...)

2nd period summary
5. ST. LOUIS, Oshie 2 (Sobotka, Berglund), 5:46.

Shots on goal: St. Louis 11-6 = 17, Los Angeles 6-13 = 19.

The Geico "Lord Stanley" commercial gets more annoying every time. If that was the real Lord Stanley, I'd probably beat him with his cup.

Everything you need to know about Morel: one night back in the late 80s, he was working a game and stopped play on the ice because he was tired and wanted a break. Literally, nothing else happened on the ice to cause a stoppage - he just thought play had gone on too long without a break and so he blew play dead.

He called games for about 4 or 5 more years after that; he finally "retired" in 1994, rather than get fired.

I love how the kings fans keep chanting blues suck even though we are winning the series does that mean the kings suck even more?

Until we've won 4 games, don't start celebrating.'

Blues are trying to largely play 5-on-5 PK in the 3rd period right now; that's probably not going to work.

hate hate hate hate hate

You need some momentum. Eventually you collapse all the way into the goal.

Why the hell is Chris Stewart doing most (all?) of the chasing on his line? I'm fine with him using his size, but he's not nearly as effective doing that trying to play a 200-foot game.

Backes catches Quick down and has the whole side of the net exposed, but can't make the curl to sweep the puck in. Doughty does a nice job defending the play as well.

... and again, we have a brand new game. The Blues attempt to play a defensive shell predictably fails, and Kopitar sneaks past Berglund to wrist the pass over Elliott.

Blues 3, Kings 3.

Nice. Blues screw up the entire shift, and Williams scores on the deflection in front. That's going to stand, too - it wasn't a high stick. Somehow, you just knew the way this was going the Kings were inevitably going to take the lead.

The lesson here: when you've got the lead in the final period, DON'T PLAY A PREVENT DEFENSE - IT NEVER WORKS.

Kings 4, Blues 3.
