This series is done. - WaterBoy
That's also what we said last Thursday. Be it a 6-1 loss like yesterday or a 2-1 loss in double OT, it's still only 2-1 in the series.
Does not look good though. |

Generally good post, but I wonder sometimes if Engels is watching the games, or creating his own narrative in his head. The Sens in no way played great in game 2 - but "embarrassed" and "pounded" are meaningless hyperbole that in no way reflect the reality of game 2. Montreal was the better team in game 2 - no doubt about it. But I'm sorry, "embarrassed" and "pounded" describe only Montreal in game 3. |

Game 2 was exactly that. It doesn't have to be a 6-1 game for it to be considered such. Physically dominated, no response at all from them, outshot, outhit, outhustled, blocked shots.
Words of a few Senators I spoke to--they were embarrassed.
Alfreddson was smacked several times. Methot smacked. Cowen smacked. Karlsson smacked. No one stood up.
As I wrote in the blog, The Habs were embarrassed to a more severe degree last night.
Narrative?
Sens walked out of Montreal with a win they didn't come close to deserving, and they didn't show up at all in game 2.
Game 3, they were great. Better from period to period, culminating in a crushing win for their team.

Hopefully these playoffs will help the management team to make more great decisions over the course of the summer. |

He hasn't had a game yet that near the level of where he could be. I'm not denigrating him, either. The fact that he's playing is astounding. He's missing a full gear, and that's not his fault. I'm praying he gets it back eventually, because at top speed, no one could catch him at all. It gave him a major edge he hasn't had yet.
Don't get me wrong, he's a superstar. Superstars--even when they're not at 100%--are still better than most players.
Has he played a game near the level of Subban through the first two? No. |

I don't think it has anything to do with that. If he couldn't see how decisive Friday's win was, he needs to review it, watch it over again, keep the statsheet handy. |

It's all good guys.
For my prediction to be right (Habs in 7) they need to lose 3 games.
Everything is going according to plan. ¸
