Just out of curiosity, what stupid money was lobbed out?

Unfortunately, the contract of the player he got turned out to be the stupid money. The "humungous" contract would be Bryz of course.

There are others who I would say were overpayment, especially on D.

Love some of the flyers core though....Simmonds, Giroux, Hartnell, etc...

I think you may find yourself funnier than I find you.

Sather in those days was pretty bad, but its also the NYR so throwing huge contracts at anything and everything that doesn't deserve it is kind of NY's M.O. regardless of sport. Holmgren isn't at that level, the only contract that was stupid was Parise and that is solely due to the fact that he had no desire in coming here.

Ehhh have you forgot about the Pronger contract???

Just out of curiosity, what stupid money was lobbed out? I think the Suter contract was legit, I think the Parise contract was a little stupid considering there was 0 chance he came here from the get-go, and Weber was a good OS, Nashville was beating around the bush and Homer just decided to bulldoze the lawn.

This team, outside of the major injuries, was not much different then the team last year who knocked the Pens out of the playoffs. I think if you're going to fault anyone in the organization for the 10th place finish, its Laviolette moreso than Homer.

I'll carry this over to the new posting (going up momentarily) and will respond there.

?

He's a Hall of Famer. He was still producing, and still one of the top defenseman in the game. His cap hit was under 5 million. What is wrong with the Pronger contract? The term? As long as he doesn't retire, and why would he, it won't hurt the Flyers. The money? Sniders welcome mat is made of 100 dollar bills.
