And the Oilers won't be moving up because no one is going to give up a top 5 pick for Gagner or anyone else which means MacT, never before a GM, will screw the pick up.

I can't believe how much the Oilers suck year after year after year.

Next year when they tank, their sucker fans will be saying, yeah but it's only year 4 of the rebuild.

Your city & organization is a complete joke!!

From reading your idiocy the past while a couple of things have become clear. A) You live in Edmonton. B) English is your second language. Those two things mean C)You live in Millwoods.

Conclusion: Please don't molotov my house. Go to Laheys. I think he lives on 118th Ave.

They will trade it I believe, big question, do they try to move up, or will they move down?

Would you swap picks with Philly if you could get Braydon Coburn in return? Then draft Max Domi?

The Oilers would love to have another Russian to play with Yak. That was a concern expressed by media when he was drafted. Will he stay with no other russians on the team except habby. Habby is now gone. I think that this would be a great pick for us. I am still up for trading it or bumping ahead two spots to get monahan. They know their dman isn't being taken by edmonton or calgary so why not try to trade down and get something. Heck they could probably trade further and still get him or Nurse and be laughing.

If Edmonton wants a Canadian, I bet they can get it by offering their 7th overall and an average prospect (maybe peckham) for the 5th overall.

Anyone here think Yaks will win the Calder or will Brodin get it?

Yakupov DESERVES this...leads his team in goals, his +/- is better than Huberdeau with less ice time and played pretty much the whole season on the 3rd line...imagine if he played with Hall all 48 games?..

well, that's how stupid you are because I don't live in Deadmonton, never would live in Deadmonton because it has nothing to offer, just a sad, sack piece of garbage city. It's actually a disgrace to be the capital city.

It really doesn't help you disprove the notion that you live in Edmonton that you don't say where you ARE from and who you DO cheer for.

doesn't matter where I live or who I cheer for but I love stirring poop on this forum because you people cheer for a bottom-feeder with no chance of attracting TOP UFA's because the city is a hell hole.

GET IT!!!!!!

- newmy

The only thing I don't get is "GET IT!!!!!!" because you didn't ask it like a question unless GET IT!!!!! meant "get it while it's hot" or something, in which case I don't get it.

Sorry you dislike living in Edmonton.

I understand your hostility though. Until they move you up to the deep fryer its all you can afford. Have faith, one day you'll make assistant manager. Then you can rent something with a balcony. Good times are ahead Habib.

But he is Russian. Believe its all hes getting at. Now with that said. Could he play in the NHL this year? Or would he have to do military duty in Finland? What kind of citizen is he?

Loved the Donald Draper line. Really did.

I want the Pred's to get Barkov so bad. It isnt even funny.

- poisondhearts37

He was born and raised in Finland, and plays for their national team. I really don't see how he is Russian.

If he was raised in Finland, and learned the game there, you can feel pretty damn confident he won't suffer from any "russian factor".

The intimation that that all Russians are susceptible to the Russian factor, let alone that the Russian factor is innate or genetic, is ridiculous.

This coming from the hockey boards that were discussing Galchenyuk and the russian factor last year...

Forget the pick, why not sign a versatile vet like Dainius Zubrus (Lithuanian but speaks Russian obviously)?

You can play him at 3/4C with him slotting up the lineup at the beginning of the season - in fact our centre depth looks pretty good with Nuge, Gags, Horcoff and Zubrus (and maybe Lander up to start the year) - but he can also be a big defensive conscience for either Nuge and Eberle or a yakupov line.

Zubrus-Nugent-Hopkins-Eberle
OR
Hall-Zubrus-Yakupov
OR
Zubrus-Gagner-Yakupov

all look like intriguing lines.

- Morris

This plan has promise, though he's getting a bit slow in his old age.

He's as Russian as Lucic is Croatian.

Slow in his old age, that's our jam!

But seriously, instead of exclusively overpaying for prime UFAs, we'll have to nab a few under the radar and/or over the hill guys.

What do you reckon Zubrus' cap hit would look like? less than 3.4 I assume, if you could get him to leave NJ?

3 would be my guess, depends on how drunk the GM's are like every FA.

Oilers could use some low key solid role layer signings like Boyd Gordon, Jay McClement kind of dudes that will run a PK and give the 3rd/4th line some speed and jam.

The Croatian factor is one of the big reasons I see the Bruins going far this year.

If Carolina wants a Dman so bad, makes more sense for them to trade down to 9-12 or so. At that spot at least 2 out of Ristolainen, Nurse and Zadorov will still be on the board.

It will go this way;

Colorado - S. Jones

Florida - Mackinnon

Tamba Bay - Drouin

Nashville - Barkov

Carolina - Monahan

Calgary - Magic Beans

Edmonton - Trade Pick

any bets?
