Yea. I'd definitely still take Mackinnon over Drouin. Drouin can produce like crazy in the Q, but I don't think his style will translate well to the NHL. I'd probably take barkov over drouin, even.

im gonna be stoked if a time ever comes when lottery day will mostly be an afterthought for oiler fans. much like it is for winning teams.

we'll have the odd junior prospect discussion and who gonna be available late in the first etc, but at that stage it's usually abit of a crapshoot and its hard to guess.

ill be relatively satisfied with any of monahan, nurse, zadarov etc.

but id much rather trade the pick for a proven guy who can help us now.

As a flames fan I really hope Nichushkin drops to us. He has a two year contract in the khl and I doubt he stays. Chelyabinsk traded him with him know and long story short hrs pissed off at the league so I think there is a good chance.

As a Calgary fan this guy would be perfect he develops in the K for two years which just so happens to be when mcdavid will be availabl. Therefore him honouring his khl contract would let the flames suck a little more and eventually wind up with mcdavid.

i think huberdeau gets it. and i dont think brodins numbers are sexy enough for him to get a nomination. not to say he hasnt been great all year, and looks like hes gonna be extrmely good long term. but his qualities are a little more intangible.
