Oilers will have to give the number 7th and probably one of the two Marincin/Gernat.
- AlEx_OiL

The way MacT was talking about Marancin, I doubt he will be going anywhere.

But I agree. Not looking at a roster play to move a couple spots...

They will trade it I believe, big question, do they try to move up, or will they move down?

Would you swap picks with Philly if you could get Braydon Coburn in return? Then draft Max Domi?

Better guys than Domi in the same range...

None of the 4 Ryans will be on the opening night roster.
Whitney gone per MacT.
Jones gone if I read Mac T correct.
Nuge recovering from surgery.
Smyth great in the dressing room. (Coaching job)

Somethin tells me Oilers and Hurricanes swap 1st round picks, edmonton throws in a second rounder and a C level defensive prospect to make it happen (maybe fedun or davidson)..with the pick Oilers select one of Barkov, Monahan, or MacKinnon who I think may still be available at number five.

While mulling over guys I'd like EDM to pick, I realize I'm happy almost no matter what. EDM's getting a great player, Zadorov, Ristolainen, Nurse, Monahan, Horvat, Lazar. They're all great young players. It's doesn't really matter who they pick.

Because there's only one thing that matters come draft day. And that's that the flames pick someone sh1tty

Sounds more like Marincin have a better shot to make the Oil then Oscar the Bomb.

And the Oilers won't be moving up because no one is going to give up a top 5 pick for Gagner or anyone else which means MacT, never before a GM, will screw the pick up.

I can't believe how much the Oilers suck year after year after year.

Next year when they tank, their sucker fans will be saying, yeah but it's only year 4 of the rebuild.

Your city & organization is a complete joke!!

Would hemsky for a late round first be asking to much would the Oilers have to add a pick of some sorts or a player? Cause if the oil did that and try and take horvat, lazar or gauthier in the late first round and give them a year or two to develop in juniors and the ahl till horcs is gone.

my city? I live in Calgary you dumb troll.

Your material is the same every single time you come here and post. Why don't you do us all a huge favour and stop your pointless, ignorant commenting because nobody would like more than for you to just leave, troll.

Why is that these dumb sh1theads come to Clouts blogs and tell us sh1t we already know? Do fans of other teams seriously think we're all happy with EDM management?

If Oilers really believe in the guy they can get at number five and they don't as much believe in the guy they can get at number seven then I think it may be worth it to overpay a bit. Sometimes you gotta overpay to get what you want. If Barkov or Monahan (and maybe MacKinnon if available) can be Oilers LONG term solution at 2nd center then giving up a 2nd and an ok prospect is easily worth it even if it's only two spots, you most likely can't get any of those guys at number seven.

Gauthier'll likely be gone by 15. Hemsky probably could've fetched a late first rounder at the deadline when value was inflated, but not now. Although I like the thought process there.

Horvat is exactly what EDM needs.

They will not move up because no team is giving up a top 5 pick for any of your garbage & Gagner is NOT worth a top 5 pick either.

I can't believe how stupid you Oiler fans are but then again, you've been rebuilding since 07 & you don't even know it.

Beat it & hit the golf course already, hockey was done a long time ago for you bozos!!

If the Oil picked Lazar or Horvat at 7th while Zadorov, Nurse, or Nichushkin were still available, I'd sh*t on all the neighbourhood cats and then drop them off in front of Rexall Place.

this is if they traded down.

If monahan's gone by 7 (likely), my first choice is Zadorov because he'd be a perfect fit with J Schultz IMO. My second choice'd be trade down and take Horvat. Perfect role player. Gritty, good defensively, slides up n down the lineup.

EDIT: Sorry, "can" slide up and down the lineup
