Lafontaine spent NO time in the AHL meaning he made the jump directly to the NHL so you are WRONG. I'm going to bed but will gladly shred the rest of your insane ramblings, like how you left Boston out again, tomorrow

So the only league that counts is the AHL and the only GM that counts I snow. We must discuss the entire league as long as its not the Islanders pre snow. Am I correct on that?

There are SOME examples of it. Like I said, Kane is one of them. You can also find former heroin addicts that turned into millionaires in under a year. That doesn't mean that shooting heroin is the first step to making a million dollars.

For good teams, drafting and playing is not how it's done and it never has been. This isn't the nfl.

I love how he implies we are all a bunch of homers being blinded by Snow. He really doesn't have a clue does he?

I have no clue. And you do?

I have no idea what type of player Strome is. You do?

I know that Bailey, Okposo, and Nino are not developing and will never develop into the players we were told they would be. You also know that.

We are sold a bill of goods every year. You are still buying. I am not.

- kencan98

Where are they not developing?

Nino just lead his team in his first season in the AHL. first season!

We were just on a run where Josh & Kyle were 2 of the 4 best players on the team... that didnt just happen... they are de-vel-op-ing.

Yes Josh & Kyle may never be top 6 players, but they are still NHL players.

You're right, I'm wrong.

I wish this was like a message board, where you could take this quote of mine, stick it in a sig, and even when you're wrong, you can just point at what I wrote and say, "see, I proved someone wrong. Once."

Really good dead people? I just caught onto that. Huh?

I see what you did there.

Focus on the core subject here junior, because you're terrible at staying on the original point, which was that top five picks do NOT typically need time in the AHL. Making the jump to the NHL means going from Juniors to the bigs. As I pointed out, most top five picks do just that. You have a knack for backing out of a topic and honing it to try and save face.

You were talking about Bailey. Go read your own post. Here it is...

- kencan98

Actually I was referring to both Bailey and Nino...the point still stands.

You are right. And most of the time those teams don't pick in the top 5 for long. We have had 6 top 10 picks since 2006. We barely made the playoffs. That's unacceptable.

Unacceptable for a team not facing bankruptcy, free agent snubs and the worst goalie contract in NHL history. We are repairing the damage that Milbury left and that cannot be done stricty through the draft over just 5 years. Considering most players that are drafted typcially have another year to two of juniors, we only have three Snow-drafted players who had completed their junior careers coming into this season. If you can't see this team is far and away better than it was a couple of years ago, it explains why you're slobbering all over the Pens right now.

Sadly enough, he would be. Another thing sadly enough is, I actually agree with the crux of what he posts about, sans a couple of things, but, like I've repeated numerous times, he'd rather argue with people and be right.

The Avs, Flyers (assuming you are referring to Sean Couturier), Panthers, Oilers and the Devils. All NON PLAYOFF TEAMS. You want to keep going? If you google hard enough you'll find at least one who will support your point. Here's a hint. Think Black and Hawks. The City where the President comes from (no not the Islands in the pacific..don't want to throw you off). The first letter of the first name is P and the first of the last is K. Think, google, think some more, google a little more, then you'll find ONE that supports your claim.

The Flyers are a perennial playoff team. Again, we're talking about top five picks here and the fact that most spend no time in the AHL. Stay on target. You clearly don't understand that but feel free to look up drafts over the past five years league wide and you'll find plenty of players that went directly from Juniors to the NHL.

And your insistence that it's any different makes yours fall into pieces. Teams that draft and play SUCK and they are forced into doing it. Teams that are good don't need to draft and play. They draft, develop, then play. Our mistake, Milburry, Snow, or the 2 weeks of Smith is that we consistently draft people that only the Islanders would draft then we are told they are the next coming of Gretzky then they end up sucking. It happens EVERY year besides the JT draft and I honestly think that if the Islanders screwed that one up there wouldn't be any fans left.

- kencan98

Teams that are good don't get top five picks so it's irrelevant to the topic of conversation. From your standpoint, Snow should have been fired in year one because Milbury did such a poor job developing players. Draw a line from Snow's FIRST draft if you're going to analyze how front office deals with young players. Bailey was a fail because they didn't allow him to finish his JUNIOR career, but he's getting his act together now. Some guys are simply late bloomers. Since then, JT is a stud and Nino should be ready to move up.

Perhaps by your logic we should lump in Bill Torrey's years to and say this club is doing just fine with 4 cups in 35 years
