No he's older than you, a little younger than me, and lives about 5 or 6 town east of me.

I actually don't even live in New York but yes. 5 towns east, 3 towns south.

How do you know I live in NY?

One thing, '08 is longer ago than '09, right?

Yeah, I'm "gone" because I realize that you need to learn from your mistakes in order to not repeat them. Nino is already ruined here. It's over. They should be shopping him now while he still have even the smallest bit of value.

Strome can still make it. That's only if they do the right thing and give him at least half of next year in BP.

If they bring him up one of two things will happen. He will either be put on the top line with one of the best players in the world or he will be put on the fourth line and be Nino 2. If he's put on the first line with JT, JT gets all the credit. If he gets on the fourth line, again, he's Nino number 2.

Draft, develop, and ease them into it. They Islanders haven't done any of those three very well at all in recent history.

- kencan98

Do you have any clue how many players successfully transition from juniors to the NHL? Even the slightest idea? Plenty of top five picks don't even finish their junior careers and go on to develop in the league. Strome is not Josh Bailey....He already can be a better player tha. Boyes

You're right, I'm wrong.

I wish this was like a message board, where you could take this quote of mine, stick it in a sig, and even when you're wrong, you can just point at what I wrote and say, "see, I proved someone wrong. Once."

Really good dead people? I just caught onto that. Huh?

I think the reason Capuano is thinking of dressing him is in 23 playoff games he has 6 goals- 2 assists- 8 points...don't agree with it but I think that's their mindset...
- kear20

just like Boyes was ONCE a 40-goal scorer....
Garth judges people on their pasts and claims/expects/thinks they will achieve that again. He's NOT a good GM. What some would say is patience is more likely a by-product of him not being able to make deals/trades.

This team is in the playoffs based on individual talent and hard work with a little bit of luck having Philly & NJD suck this year in comparison to the last few years. Everyone STOP saying "the rebuild" has finally paid off. We're lucky to have the talent we have(from ????? losing seasons) but if anyone thinks management had any involvement other than drafting and picking up other teams' garbage, you're only kidding yourself. If this was an 82-game season, we might have been hoping for lottery luck in the draft, again.

Not meaning to be Debbie D but I see the reality of things and keep the rose-colored glasses off my eyes.

That being said........LETS SHOCK THE WORLD!!!!!!!!! Every Pens-hater(which is about 50 million hockey fans) is rooting for us big time and an upset would be a HUGE inspiration for next year. The SPOILER PUSH STARTS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since 2000, how many Islander first round picks successfully made the jump?

1 - And Strome is not JT. Not even close.

How many top 10 picks have we had since then 7.

Actually 8. I forgot about Raffi Torres.

I have no clue. And you do?

I have no idea what type of player Strome is. You do?

I know that Bailey, Okposo, and Nino are not developing and will never develop into the players we were told they would be. You also know that.

We are sold a bill of goods every year. You are still buying. I am not.

- kencan98

Bailey is what, 22? So your angle is that we should trade every player who can't light the scoreboard up by 23, Milbury?
Yep, I do know. Or at least I clearly have a better idea than you. You're the idiot saying Nino is done because of 55 games with Marty Reasoner for four minutes per night at 19 years old
Or that NHL goalies hit their prime at 23..

So....the majority of Islanders fans who post on this board wear rose colored glasses, like Charles Wang, think Garth Snow has done a bang up job, and think the "rebuild is finite?" Oh, and that we're gonna sweep the Pens?

Have I got this right? Oh, and no one realizes that Strome is a natural center, that we haven't won a playoff series in 20 years and that we all agree that our process on bringing up our draft picks has gone smoothly, right?

Amirite?

First of all I never said anyone should be traded.

Second of all, Nino isn't done because of his production alone. Nino is done because of everything else that surrounds him. He came to the team played 64 games (not 55) and scored 5 points and was a -30. That's first. Second, he wasn't invited to camp after that season. Third, he requests a trade.

Now if I were to put "Fourth, we put him on the first line with your best player" would that make any sense at all?

For all of those reasons, he's done here and we should get value out of him while we can.

Maybe you heard, Milbury stepped down a few years ago.! And yes, Strome can be close to JT as he is actually more naturally talented. JT has elite instincts with excellent skills, Strome has elite skills eith excellent instincts Both will be all stars for years to come. And yes Strome is NHL ready
We spent over a decade watching Milbuy make bad pick after bad pick... He's gone.

I think you are referring to me. And I think the reason is because while some people here try to argue with me, I think most believe that there is some validity behind what I'm saying. Most won't admit it but it really isn't that hard to see.

With the Nino issue, is it hard to see that a guy who scored 5 points in 64 games, wasn't invited to camp, requested a trade, then wasn't called up for playoffs when the rest of our serious prospects were is not the best fit for our first line? I think it's pretty obvious but denial is hard to overcome.
