Im so pumped for playoffs. Dont care that we are playing Pitt. Just need the big effort and for these guys to play their hearts out. No room for lollygagging against Pitt, 100000% effort needs to be out there every shift.
Biggest keys to this series are the Isles staying disciplined, and Nabby playing like he has been over the last month. He is going to have to steal a game or two in order for the Isles to have a shot at winning the series.

Discipline discipline discipline. Guys who never show it should not be on the ice. No room in the playoffs for Boulton and his nonsensical penalties. It would hurt us wayyyy more than help.

Who cares about him after this season. He's a placeholder and that's all. Space is going to have to be made next season for at least a couple fowards and he'll probably end up being one of the casualties. He's played adequately in his time here but I don't see him being part of this team long-term.

i cant imagine the "fear" of letting a 4th line player with 15 points in 67 games in his career would stop them from putting out the best team they have available... but then again, marty reasoner IS practicing.

Purely speculating (and wishfully thinking) here, but you have the Ken Hitchcock telling the media not to read too much into their lines at practice, in terms of who he'll ice. Hoping Capuano is doing the same here, playing his cards close to his chest to confuse Bylsma as to who his opening lineup will be.

Unfortunately my gut tells me that won't be the case.

Yeah...if they wanted to confuse him they could include Strome and Nelson in the lineup or something like that. I'm not so sure Reasoner is a good strategic pawn unless we want a few Pens to pull abdominal muscles laughing...

When I think 100000% effort I think Marty Reasoner.

Don't really think bylsma is overly concerned with whether reasoner is playing or not?

I wouldn't worry about Reasoner playing or not...probably think an extra faceoff man if the game is close in the 3rd period. Don't think it will matter...Isles need to keep it close going into the 3rd period and hope they can steal one in Pittsburgh. At least that's what Al Abour used to tell the young Islanders in the 70's...

He's not good at faceoffs. One of the many reasoner myths butch goring wants us to believe. I think goring helped get Obama elected?

reasoner playing is a huge deal!!! cant just give away roster spots to maybe get in the circle for a potential important 3rd period faceoff, which might not happen because marty reasoner is playing 3 steps behind everyone for the first 2.5 periods.

Exactly...plenty of guys can take important draws...hell, Okposo is a force at the face off dot! Cizikas has decent faceoff numbers too!
