I just hate taht because he has playoff experience that they think he will help. I dont know whatever. Maybe Cappy is throwing up the white flag already
- kasperrko

Bryan Trottier has playoff experience too but I doubt suiting him up would work out...Reasoner is such a hinderance to this teams performance. They moment they sat him they went on their big run...now he's back to slow us down?

Completely mind boggling. Capuano is brain dead
- Cptmjl

i just cant believe that these are the lines for wednesday...if it is, this move alone will make me question if he is worthy of being resigned--- im going to hold out till the lines are official though before i kill him for it. there may be more to this than staple knows.

Joensuu hasn't played that great...if Capuano wanted to do something drastic, I would put Strome with Taveras and move Boyes on the 4th line...
- kear20

No way they'd allow Strome's first NHL game to be a playoff game on the top line's wing. Joesnuu has played his best hockey as an islander since returning and at least adds a hell of a lot more than Reasoner

So Reasoner wasn't good enough to play during the stretch run to get into the playoffs but he is good enough to be in the lineup during the playoffs?? My guess is you will hear from Cappy that Reasoner is a vet who has been in this situation before blah blah blah

God help us...I don't care about experience at this point. I want tenacity and energy, which Reasoner brings none of either! If Staple says Reasoner is practicing on the 4th line again tomorrow, I don't think it will leave much doubt.

it would be a HUGE mistake and will instantly wash away any ideas i was able to come up with explaining why resigning him as a coach would be ok....

I like making fun of his tits. I think he has played pretty good his second time around, def better than reasoner or Boulton.

Isles need to play game 1....like it is game 7!!!

That first game decides everything.

Leave everything on the ice!!!

We can get out of the first round then we might play Montreal who knows we can make it pretty close to those finals.

Let's worry about our opening game against Penguins first. One step at a time.

I don't care if 95 percent in the entire world think that Penguins will beat Islanders. Well Guess what boys? They will get their behind kicked before they know it and the team that will kick it is Islanders!

Why is Reasoner even practicing? They can't possibly go with him over, I can't believe I'm writing this, Joensuu? The Isles need some jam and physicality on that fourth line. I don't see any value to having Reasoner play over Joensuu on the fourth line.

The last time I posted on here was before the loss to the flyers. I didn't want to come on here and read about all the whining and female doging because they lost for the 1st time in regulation in almost a month. Now with them playing the Penguins between all the crying from Islander fans and all the Penguin trolls, I'll be enjoying this playoff series away from this site win or lose. I'm pumped for this series and I hope they shock the world but if they don't that's ok because this is just the first step on their way back to the top. Instead of whining and crying you guys should be embracing the challenge. Go Islanders!!!
- Vukota

Perfectly stated. Its an absolute treat to be watching the Isles in the playoffs, regardless of who they're playing in round 1. If someone would have said at the beginning of the season that the Isles will finish 8th, everyone on this board would have signed up for that in a heartbeat. Its a series like this that great moments come from. If the Isles win, it would be unbelievable. If they lose, they still had a great season and made huge strides.

For being such huge Islanders fans, I'm quite frankly shocked, since some of you say that 1993 team was "miles ahead" of the 2013 team, that none of you mentioned that our best player DIDN'T EVEN PLAY IN THE SERIES. That's considered one of the biggest upsets in the history of the league. Glenn Healy (THERE WAS NO (frank)ING E IN HIS LAST NAME) was nothing more than a slightly above average goalie, and Mark Fitzpatrick was nothing more than a middling goalie who never lived up to the hype.

The biggest difference is that we had veteran players on that team as compared to this team which is relatively pretty green. Mullen, Ferraro, Thomas, Hogue, etc. were guys that had been in the playoffs before and stepped up their games considerably in that series, rallying around the loss of Turgeon.

Saying this, I don't expect to win this series, but I'm not going to rain on everyone's parade like (frank)ing Ken. It's really a joke how bad you want everyone to think you're right.

- potvin05

The Isles beat Pitt in '93 because A) Glenn Healy played out of his mind, far better than Barasso and B), guys like Kasparaitis and Pilon had huge series and got under the skin of the Pens' stars. That 93 team was not nearly as good as Pitt on paper, but the guys on the ice didn't care. They played their a**es off and weren't intimidated in the least. We need the same mentality from this team.
