i agree...and i believe if the isles make a series of this, colin mcdonald will have a HUGE role in it...hes physical, finishes his checks and if he can get on the nervous of someone like malkin, id be more than ok having them both sit for 2 minutes...
question is, does carkner play? if so, whose out? - LetsGoIsles
I have a feeling (bad) that Boulton will be a regular in this series as well as Carkner. Not sure who will sit though... |

Im thinking martin, cizikas, and mcdonald are all going to play big roles. If you're going to sit anyone for carkner I'm thinking strait who to me is two steps behind. Hickey has earned the right to play as far as I'm concerned. |

Boulton shouldn't see the ice in this series. He offers absolutely nothing to the line up. Reasoner and Boulton should be healthy scratches the entire series. Either of those guys play Capuano is an even bigger Moron than I thought previously. |

you go with the same line up that has been working. The Pens are not that brutally tough we should be perfectly fine |

Looking forward to Wednesday night!
I hope the Isles keep DP away from that locker room, and Reasoner and Bolton in the press box.
Go Isles!!! |

Agreed that I'd choose Hickey over Strait, though I'm afraid it won't happen. Hickey has been one of our top three dmen this year IMO and has gotten better as the seasons gone on...suddenly we decided to start sitting him. I have a feeling Joensuu and Hickey will be watching while Carkner and Boulton play.. |

eh, i dont think boulton will play...no much fighting in hockey playoffs. i had no problem with him playing the last 2 games; assuming there arent brawls during any games, him seeing any ice in the playoffs would be a HUGE mistake. |

this is legit worst case scenario...
joensuu should be in over boulton and thats a no brainer...
a case can be made for carkner, but not for hickey!!! i agree, it should be strait (or amac, but that wont happen) |

I agree, but Boulton has gotten a lot of playing time as of late, which leads me to believe they're ramping him up for playoff icetime. It's a bad move since I'd rather have Joensuu's forechecking and size than Boulton's ability to drop the gloves and get dirty. |

Well, we can look at this two ways...either the Isles played Boulton 3 of the last 4 games to get him icetime to be ready for the playoffs, or they did so to keep anyone from taking liberties with JT in down the stretch games...
However, I don't think it was a matter of geting the other guys rest and those games weren't exactly meaningless. I have a BAD feeling they're getting Boulton up to speed. |

We all do too. The problem is the refs will probably not agree with us. One of my fears with this series is that the refs handle these guys with kid gloves and give them free reign of the ice and make the Isles submit to allow this too happen. If I'm Capuano I'm telling my team to do just that, hit all three of these guys every opportunity you get. |

Capuano is a complete jackass if that's the case. Hickey sitting recently makes zero sense. Strait has been bad, I know he just came back but he should be sat as an injury plug if he is so inclined to play Carkner. |

finishing their checks and fore/backchecking were part of the reason they have been so successful over the past month....
as much as EVERYONE knows that the NHL love the penguins, i wonder if there is a feeling that an islanders upset (IE an up and coming team, in a (future) high market city, with tons of prospects and potential) could be just as valuable... |

It's a nice thought but I doubt it. The refs have a real opportunity to ruin this series. Hopefully they go with the let them play mentality? |

100% correct. That's the play they have gotten away from recently. They need to find that. |

Yes that is what I am saying. The Penguins are not as physical as everyone thinks. They have speed and great skill no doubt about it. Everyone though on here is correct though if we play a physical game it knocks them off there game |

Yeah, makes complete and total sense in NO ONE'S MIND besides Capuano!!! Is he that (frank)ing stupid? He can't be? Can he be? - Cptmjl
Only Reason he is in there is because he has playoff experience like back in 2004. Kind of stupid though if you ask me. I told everyone we will see how great our coach is when it really counts |
