Let's put it this way. He's got the speed, ice vision and hands of a top 10 pick. But he's also small, in sort of the fireplug way his father or Kimmo Timonen is built. So if a team is willing to overlook his lack of height, he could move up.
- bmeltzer

He is what. 5'9"? That is little to no factor at all on my opinion. If he's got all the other tools he can be a steak in this draft

He is the microcosm of the flyers. Rarely when things are going bad is he good and vice versa

Trading Mez now would be like selling low on a decent stock. You'd get almost nothing coming the other way.

Well cap space and a pick. I guess it just depends on what doctors think of his shoulder

He wouldn't remove them! He just glued them to the bottom of the box...

Bettman is actually sniffing that glue, but not until he draws little Penguin logos on our ping pong balls.

2 questions for my fellow Flyers fans -

Do you like the current NHL draft lottery set-up?

And would you like it more/less/same if it was more like the NBA (where the lottery is held for the top 3 picks, no team falls more than 3 spots, anyone in the lottery can move into the top 3 but like the NHL, the odds vary)?

Probs late but idgaf, this is funny. Barry reviewing his predictions.

4) FLYERS – Bold prediction #2: Bryzgalov has a great year. It’s his “pattern.” – this team is going to be fun to watch and hated much like the dude who stole your girlfriend. I’m actually looking forward to the day when George Parros tries to beat up the entire team. There is ZERO depth on D and the Islanders kept stealing everyone from waivers, otherwise the Flyers would be in Boston’s league.
WOW. I MEAN WOOOOOW! IT'S ALL 2REAL'S FAULT. SOMEONE SHOULD TRACK HIM DOWN AND KICK HIS ASS

Also, clearly Barry doesn't know his ass from his elbow when it comes to the East.

sure it's been discussed on this thread, but just have to say the local beat writers continue to flabbergast me with their "work". i love how bryz responded. love it. i also love homer's reponse.

anyway....not a whole lot of hope for the #1 pick tonight, but it's possible. dumb and dumber and all that.

Bryz rules! By and large, the beat writers are dummies.

I think the entire draft should be a lottery and use a snake system, so the team picking 1st in round one picks last in round two. Rewarding mediocrity sucks

He's great at pointing out the poor quality of most of the Flyers beat writers.

He's less great at stopping pucks.

The hyperbole goes both directions.
Two years ago L Schenn was 'untouchable' and never would be traded.

Let me put on my orange glasses a minute...

Ollie is going to replace Pronger, Akeson is the next Martin St Louis, Mason will be better then Cary Price, and the Flyers will win the lottery and get Seth Jones.

It's awesome baby

Worse than rewarding mediocrity, it punishes teams that attempt to compete. I'm at least glad that tanking for last place only gets you a 25% shot at that first pick now.

Bill, sometimes the best player available is a player of need. In my opinion, the flyer shouldn't draft another young Center, No matter what the circumstances are. I feel our D is hurting that much
