Mason plays a very precise technical Canadian style... a lot of very controlled slides.

Bryz is definitely more from the Russian school... more acrobatic, which can manifest into flopping/flailing.

I don't think that Bryzgalov flops and flails at all. He's very steady in the net. Mason seems to be more athletic, and is more flashy.

he's been terrific and that's great. i can't say i ever really watched him very much, but i don't think columbus has had much of a team since he's been there. win the calder...lot of pressure. sophomore slumps happen all the time, and with goalies it's so mental. not a huge shock to see him struggle on a team like that after a hot start.

doesn't matter now obviously, just what he can do here, and i really, really like what i've seen so far.

Michael Leighton plus a prospect with a pretty small chance of becoming an impact player for a former Calder winner, ya we definitely got robbed there.
