Someone had to finally say it.

I don't think what we say really has any impact on how the games will be played, but seriously, if we get the habs and we lose, it's going to be the worst trollfest ever, one that we've brought upon ourselves. I mean if Leaf fans truly believe this team will smoke them, then fine, keep it up.....but we're talking about a team that is going to the playoffs for the first time in almost a decade. I'd expect more humbleness from all of us, akin to that 98/99 team, and that 1992/93 team, both teams that made the playoffs with low expectations and went to the conference final.

Does anyone else get the impression that TSN thought tonight's Edmonton/Chicago game would be a lot more interesting back when they agreed to broadcast it nationally?
- Leeman4Gilmour

yup, and thought last nights Jet's-Caps game wouldn't matter for poop I was so pissed I couldn't watch that game and had to watch Bruins-Flyers.

Healy knows that Reimer has, in just three seasons, already proven himself to be twice the goalie he ever was.

He's doing a horrible job hiding his disdain. It doesn't help that they overlooked him for the Leafs' GM job.

I don't mind Millen as much as some people, but he is just another talentless hack. Why can't they get somebody with some degree of athletic competence to call the games? I guess the guys with charisma (if you can call Kevin Weekes charismatic) are the back-ups and 4th line plugs.

Listening to Weeks, Healy, and PJ fricken Stock rip on guys like Kessel or Reimer makes me want to puke.

- Leeman4Gilmour

the guys who were good and know what they are talking about don't need the money...they already made a poop-ton playing

or they are coaches and GM's

the only guys who need broadcast jobs are the guys who can't work in the league anymore in any capacity.

NFL is different, cause US networks can afford to pay them real money, and it's once a week and fun with no travel.

covering hockey is work (compared to being retired and counting your money on a beach)

There's a certain appeal to playing Boston in the first round.

I know many won't agree, but it almost feels better (this year, anyway) to go in as an underdog rather than the team to beat.

The make-up of this team resembles an underdog far more than a contender. As underdogs, I think we might be dangerous. Yes, we could even surprise the Bruins.

As favorites, it seems we're doomed to fail.

He has an self-inflated sense of greatness that he has never deserved. He was a lousy goalie at best.

My penis has more hockey sense than him, when it gets into tight corners it bangs, and it never liked back-ups it only wanted to play against the best. It would never take honours for being a back-up, and it always loved rookies.. freshness was always a good thing not a negative.. and they were more readily available to learn and improve on their natural skills.

I love my leafies, but if we keep putting up these ridiculous predicitions of us killing Habs in the playoffs, I fear the worst (think back when sens fans year after year would tell us their team would smoke us in the playoffs having smoked us in the regular season).
- mykokes

Of course you are missing the comparison clearly..

The Leafs had strength pounded the Sens.. hurt them.. Chara was sidelined in a couple of series from the hitting...

The Habs are the Dirty Midgets.. and the pounding of a shortened season has led to their demise.. I predicted it at mid-season.. so I am not shocked.

As long as we don't overly crush them in the last game both on the score sheet and physically.. which will give them motivation... the Leafs in the playoffs will crush the Habs.. we have more skilled players than them.. and if the others.. hit hard.. playoff hockey style.. it will not be a close series.

I am well versed in Leaf history.. and the paradigm that earlier Leaf teams created.. losing regular season games.. and destroying when the games got harder.

But the crux of the matter was that the Leafs were a harder hitting team.. they still are.

If the Midgets got out of a first round with the Leafs... their wouldn't be many bodies left for the next round.. same as if we met the Bruins... we could win.. but not many would be left for the next round.

Agreed... but I'd rather they cut their teeth on playoff hockey against the Habs... and then gear up for the Bruins in the 2nd round (need somebody to beat the Caps though)

I hated Healy long before he became a Leaf.. he is an Ajax boy.. ran a few restaurants there.. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what type of guy he is... just listen to his verbal diarrhea...

Not surprising his hobby is blowing on the bag pipes.

Caps/Isles would be some wide open hockey. I actually think NYI is hot enough right now to give them a run.

The Rangers match up well against Pittsburgh, too. If the Sens could do us a solid and best the Bruins, that would be the absolute best case scenario.

Actually I am creative by nature.. and trained at one of the best schools in the country as it pertains to improv drama.. I got into their program not by design.. just thought it was something that would be fun to do.. never was that serious about it.. and still ended up with the second highest marks ever.

Randomness and improv is one of my strengths.. beyond.. being a stats guy.

Although when I do public speaking I prefer to be highly prepared... my best results have been when I just winged it...

Although it grates on people from time to time... I have worked in many industries since.. have always been the top of the charts.. made a manager and such in each field.. but am still looking for my true calling.

Would much rather take your spot and play the Habs, we match up better to them. Holtby and Ovie give us fits and the way they've been playing I want no part of them.

The only comparison is that my penis thinks it is great too... I was only talking about the differences... what is the direct comparison to someone that likes to blow hot air on the pipes and its bag?

Healy blows real good... that is his highest quality.
