I can't believe we got Mark Fraser for little 5'9 career minor leaguer Dale Mitchell at last year's trade deadline. At the time, who knew who Fraser was. It looked like a trade made for Marlies depth. The deal seemed insiginificant. Now Fraser is a top 4 d man in TO who's been in the top 10 most of the season in plus/minus. AMAZING TRADE!!! - GCHonda
Yeah, great trade. He's turned into a very valuable player for the Leafs. |

I think Franson has been our BEST PLAYER/MOST IMPROVED however you want to word it..sure Komorov is a good forechecker..it would be nice if the guy had a clue where the net was...McClement is our forward MVP IMHO - he's lead the PK to tops in the league.
I hope the leafs get back to playing more of a puck possession game rather than scrambling like mofo's just to get it over the blue line and we can make some noise in the post season
- Garnie
Franson is much improved from last year. He's playing with a lot of confidence this year. He's blossomed under Carlyle |

Jesus, page after page of leaf fans patting each other on the back about how great the leafs are ( and who they will defeat in the 1st round even), you know, the team that barely made the playoffs in a shortened season... - ShootingSemin
I think it's closer to sucking each other's Richards than patting backs...I know I've had a chub-on since Saturday night that won't go down, and it's starting to turn blue and white.
I don't know about barely made the playoffs though...another way to put it would be 'solidly in the top ten overall in the league during a very tough compacted schedule, in the playoffs and cooling it with games to spare, waiting for other teams to catch up'. |

I really hope not... thankfully he's 7th on the team in ice time, which will help us to lower the salary.
...On the other hand, he's second in scoring for defensemen... Either way, it's a pretty good problem to have |

I guess we should talk about the thread topic. In order for a team to have success, it is VITAL for the gm & coach to be on the same page. Obviously Burke had differences with Wilson. Which begs me to ask, why the fuk did Burke let him coach TO for 4 seasons if ntihing was working in Leaf land?
So I credit the amazing chemistry between Nonis & Carlyle for the amazing turn around of the Leafs. Nonis for his "stay the course approach" & RC for his brilliant coaching. They make an awesome team. - GCHonda
soo... the fact Burke hired Carlyle is just getting ignored? and the changes are Carlyle's, not Burke's?
right. ok then |

Hope not. Hope he's enjoying himself this year and wants to stay. A good run in the playoffs might help. |

I doubt it. Only reason he was holding out before was because he wanted to play. Wasn't a money thing at all, he was just concerned about how he was being used... or wasn't being used.
He's been good, but he's still only 2nd pairing, and the few times he's been bumped up to top pairing haven't gone well at all.
And he's still RFA, so $3.5M for 3yrs prolly gets it done, and set him up nicely for his UFA contract after that.
