martin gerber also has more cups than dominik hasek
- robz228

I'm pretty sure they both have 2. Unless I'm missing something somewhere.

EDIT: Not to mention that Gerber was the backup in both situations. It's a much different scenario than comparing 2 forwards.

so daniel paille is better than lafontaine, housley, perrault, turgeon, sundin, hawerchuk, oates, and countless players who are playing now just because he was on the 4th line of the boston bruins and won a stanley cup

come on. dont be like that

i think theres a much better chance of the islanders falling apart or even the senators losing the rest of their games than the rangers losing to all the crappy teams they play

The cups argument is pretty irrelevant. Paille was on the 4th line. Stafford has almost double the goals and points as Paille. I still like Paille more.

Brennan with an assist tonight. I'm so glad we got that 5th

Every player has a role that they play on the team. Paille plays his role perfectly. Did you not watch the game last night?

Stafford should be a power forward that scores and he's not doing his job. It's not really rocket science.

Besides, nobody here said that Paille was better than any of that list of players you posted. We said he was better than Stafford.

Paille plays a very important role for Boston. He's on their top PK unit and plays against the top line of the other team a lot of the time. He also has 2 more points this season than Stafford and is +2, compared to Staffs -16.

which is why is said this, word for word:

maybe he fulfills his expected role better but hes not really a better hockey player

to which you pointed out is incorrect because he has more cups

Players that play their roles better end up winning things. You're not going to win anything if you're not playing well.

He started the season off really hot and then seemed to fall of the face of the planet. I don't mind that he's not here anymore.

He was another Ruff dog house victim. He has more goals and 10 more points in 20 less games so far this year than last.

Yeah I don't mind either, he had issues with Ruff.

He isn't consistent or great but I think he slots in the top-6 better than Gerbe or Hecht as a replacement, so I also wouldn't hate having him.

If you can't play your role, then you're not a good hockey player.

But at this point, I'm going to agree to disagree. You obviously like Stafford better than Paille and I'm the other way around.

I think Paille would be more valuable to us now based on what we know over the last couple years, but Stafford Could be better than Paille. I think Stafford has more upside, like if he was having a good season.

I used to really like Stafford but this year has made me lose faith in him. Who knows maybe next year he will play well for us. We can only hope.
