The team had no second and third line all season and yet are still better then the Leafs.
Funny indeed. |

Why isn't Toronto an option for who will be out in round 1?
They don't have a chance. - Iggysbff
Oh you didn't hear? They scored 4 goals on their first 5 shots last night, in a totally indicative example of what the playoffs are like, so they're a sure thing. |

I think Ottawa has a great shot against Washington in the 1st round. Anderson is back, if he can return to his Vezina form from earlier in the season before his injury. Milan Michalek is back. Jared Cowan is not to far off & word on the street is Erik Karlsson may be ready for playoffs..? Potential Darkhorse team are the Sens. |

Toronto went a stretch without their #1 goalie ( that only makes 1.6 mill )
One of their 2 top scorers last year has missed all but 10 games
TO also implemented a new system with new coachs
TO top line center is bozak
Should i keep going?
We play n the toughest division in the league, with 4 outa 5 im a playoff spot
And still there is only a point dif between us and you seem to think yor better?Typical van reject.. |

Who said anything about think.
You got Bozak, Kadri and Grabo down the middle, enough said.
Look, i know its been awhile since yall witnessed the playoffs but you have to remember the game completely changes. The whistles get put away, the game slows down and it turns into a tough grind. You got a inexperienced leaf team that is going to resort to a trap system while ur top two lines on going to be picked apart by the opposing teams shut down lines. You think Lupul, Kadri and Kessel are going to have all that room for those nifty little passing plays while the opposition plays protect the net with 5 guys crowding the zone? For those of you fans that think season matchup numbers mean something come playoff time you are in for a cruel surprise, trust me....im a nucks fan after all.
While Toronto has the D, and some would say goaltending to go the yard, the center depth is weak, and that is the overall key to playoff success. |

Here is a little refresher for Leafs fans. I know it's been nearly a decade since you have last seen playoff hockey. You might notice the pace has picked up since 9 years ago, but I'm confident you guys will figure out what's happening. Just incase, here are the basics of how the playoffs work:
Round 1 (quarterfinals): 16 teams (8 per conference). 1vs8, 2vs7, 3vs6, 4vs5. Seeds 1-4 have home ice advantage*.
Round 2 (semifinals): 8 teams (4 per conference). After the first round, the teams are re-seeded so that the highest ranking team plays the lowest ranking team. i.e. If seeds 1, 2, 5, 6 won in round one, then the matchups would be 1vs6, and 2vs5, with the higher seeds having home ice advantage.
Round 3 (conference finals): 4 teams. Same as round 2. Western winner is awarded the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl and the Eastern winner is awarded the Prince of Wales Trophy.
Round 4 (Stanley Cup finals): 2 teams. The winners from each conference play each other for the Stanley Cup, the oldest trophy in pro sports history. The team with the better regular season has home ice advantage.
*home ice advantage means:
Game 1: better team plays at home
Game 2: better team plays at home
Game 3: better team plays away
Game 4: better team plays away
Game 5: better team plays at home
Game 6: better team plays away
Game 7: better team plays at home |

Ya like i said THINK..Im not saying were going to go deep forsure but look at it like the leafs has surprised pretty much everyone this year, they have been picked all over by everyone to actually miss the playoffs..Noone had faith in any of our centers and still dont and think its just plain sad..Those same centers has kept us in a playoff spot all season so far..Our goaltending was slated by everyone to be bottom of the leauge as well and yet again here we are 5th in our conf..Top 3 PK for the 30th place last season..PP is what top half of the league up from 29th last season..I hope the rest of the teams actually thought like you do and this would be a breeze playoffs for us..Touch our centers and you will pay the price of a beatdown by one of the tough guys thats there to protect our so called weak centers..
The whistles get put away in the playoffs?Oh thank god for that then because the leafs is one of the most penalty taking teams out there
You guys are so much better then us then how did you go out in 5 games last season with all this knowledge? You need to be more concerned about how your team is going to survive these playoffs..

Leafs had their share of injuries too, #1 goalie, #1 LW, but had the depth to still have basically the same record as the Nucks. Nucks are a more experienced team, probably the better team, but not much anyone can say to take anything away from the Leafs. They've played good hockey all year, with most of the team playing to their potential, fifth in conference in a tough div. The Nucks are good but have the luxury of playing 15 games, almost a third of their total games, vs teams that are now bottom 7-8th in the league. |

Damn! This is some good stuff. The Leafs cute little passing plays are not going to cut it? It's too bad they don't have the team toughness, strength in special teams and things like blocked shots that are the hallmark of the Canucks.
