When you guys sign Jagr, Iginla, Selanne and Elias for 500 Million dollars on July 1st, will it make a difference "next year"?

Well yeah, when you sign a guy with 2 goals his entire career to a 6.5 million dollar deal, I'd want to play in NY too.
- kencan98

Snow signed Carkner to a 3 year, 4.5 million dollar deal which, at 1.5 million a year, is just much as Boogaard was making.

I guess that was a good deal because Carkner has twice as many goals in his entire career as Boogaard: 4.

Didn't he beat the crap out of Boyle in the playoffs last year? I would have gave him 4.5 a season just for that alone.

Building the team through the draft?

Really?

And yes, when you are expected to destroy every team in the league before the season starts and you end up exiting early every year, that's pretty much poopting the bed over and over again.

We expect to be bad and we usually are.

Yes maybe you've heard of Callahan, Stepan, Hagelin, Girardi, Delzotto, Staal, Miller, Kreider and that one really great steal Hank, we also used Dubi and Artie to get Nash, I would use Mcdonagh since he was in College when we stole him.

As a senator. What does that have to do with him being on the Island?

And the only one of those players who actually makes a difference on your team is Lundqvist. The rest of them could go, fill in with whoever you want, and the outcome would be the same.

I know you're a Ranger fan but still, you didn't draft Rick Nash.

And you did nothing to deserve Tavares

Staal and Girardi aren't 2 of the best shut down defensmen in the league? Cally and Stepan are fill ins? Really? What's Okposo really done to justify him being a top Caliber player?

Actually we did a lot to "deserve" Tavares. We sucked the year before. That's enough.

Drugs are bad, mmmkay. Cranford never said the Rangers drafted Nash. He said that Rangers trade players they drafted to trade for Rick Nash.

Adding to Carkner, I'd give Kaleta a contract that would set him and his entire family up for life just for his hit on Richards.

Building a team through trading players away is not building a team through a draft.

So Hank in the 7th, Hags in the 5th, Callahan in the 4th, Stepan in the 2nd, Girardi undrafted for Christ sakeis a hell of a lot more impressive than sucking it up, have some pride

So the Rangers haveing almost half their team filled with home grown guys isn't building a team the right way? I'm confused? So the only way to truely build a team is through the waiver wire correct?

Your rationale is irrational.

Stay on point. Carkner is making 1.5 million for 3 years after scoring 4 goals in his entire career. Was that a dumb move by Snow?

No it wasn't. I'm happy with it for the simple fact that he beat the poop out of Boyle. And I'm being 100% serious. I'd give him a contract just for that and that alone.

The only "home grown" talent they have that makes a difference is their goalie.

And I'm the last guy on here that will stick up for the moves the Islanders made. They are the worst drafting team in sports and have been for a very long time.

Nope. Not at all. I just don't mind seeing Rangers get hurt every once in a while. Not any other player from any other team, but if they are Rangers and the happen to get a little check from behind and are a little dizzy for a few weeks, good.
