Let me know when its ok to come back in here and talk about hockey. It was a great game and I figured there would be no childish back and fourth BS but clearly I was wrong - Vukota
It's bad on our board too, although I am partly responsible for that. Despite the outcome, a lot of Rangers fans(myself included) are particularly grumpy. |

I look at it this way: this nonsense about the officiating...well, we all know what Al Arbour says about that. The call on McDonald should have been charging, not elbowing....of course, Asshead took care of that problem anyway. There was one blatant and obvious trip of one of our guys coming into the zone on RW that didn't get called. That's about it.
The bottom line: thank God there is only one Henrik Lundqvist, or hockey would be boring as sh*t . I knew from about half way through the second period that our only hope was to get a point by having it be 0-0, at the end of regulation. Even if that had made it to the shootout, we'd have come out with the short end of the stick. As I said, Rask should win the Vezina because of the year he's having, but I don't think there's any question as to who is the "best" goalie in the league...and probably the world, right now. To put it another way- if the Isles play the way they played last night against Florida, they'll win 8-2. As long as they KEEP playing that way, they'll be in the dance, guaranteed. Nothing to be ashamed of there... - dcb1
I think you're a little overboard in proclaiming Henrik the best in the world, or even the NHL for thatmatter but he's unquestionably an elite goaltender. He's nearly unbeatable down low and plays on a team that allows few rebounds due to their collapsed defense. We missed several wideopen opportunities last night due to major clogging in the slot. We rang the crossbar three times because that's the best place to beat him. We have to keep him screened and get our shots up high. He's the best in the league at taking the bottom half of the net off the table and last night showed it. |

If he manages to start finishing, he'll be a big part of this team. We're certainly better with him. His puck pursuit has been fantastic. Good battle level |

I agree. I think the pick will start going in for him soon if he keeps playing at this level. He's been good at both ends of the ice. Nice surprise. |

I was going to say something to Kencan too but ill just say great game last night instead. You guys deserved a better fate but I'm glad the Rangers took the extra point. Worst of luck to you too! - GioRock
Despite how you nyr and isles fans like to bash each other. I truthfully hate New York Rangers than anything. The point is that it was a great game last night and I have nothing to say but congratulate NYR for winning the game in Overtime. Do I think Islanders really won the game? In our minds, yes they did but in the paper, NYR won. Let's go Islanders and let Isles play NYR in the playoffs! |

Exactly my thoughts and I was sure he would be a pile of garbage coming back even though he played well in Finland. He is the absolute better choice out of those three. It's a no brainer. I think he's going to score a few if he keeps playing the way he has been. He's using his size which he didn't do his first time around. Capuano putting any of the other guys in besides joensuu would be pretty stupid at this point. |

true but he still does nothing for me. he is too slow and for a guy that big he is not physical enough. My guess is Lee will play over him on tuesday |

I thought you threw the body plenty of times over the last couple games.I've actually been quite pleased with how physical his play has been., he's been one of our most effective forecheckers over the last couple games as well. |

Agree...let him play out the season. Question I guess would be...has he played well enough that you'd bring him back to fight with some of the prospects for a spot next season? |

I don't know....the only guys who come close, in my view, are Rinne and Rask. He isn't great upstairs, but he's still better than 80% of them (I think his "weakness" upstairs is more a function of a comparison to how good he is down low), and as you say, down low he might as well be a pile of cinder blocks stretched across the crease. When he's on, he's unbeatable, and last night, despite SERIOUSLY out playing them for most of the game, we were lucky to get a point. |

the 4 to 5 posts that we hit would suggest we were unlucky to not come away with two points. |

You were unlucky, the Islanders were better last night. But I don't understand why you are disagree with DCB? Since the lockout ended in 2005(Lundqvist's 1st pro season in the NHL) he's been one of the best goalies in the world. Many have had their name in the conversation since 2005. Right now, what goalie would you crown best in the world? I wouldn't argue with Price, maybe Rinne or Quick. other than that I don't see another goalie better than Lundqvist. |

and I don't disagree with that however that answers the question right there as to whether Henrik is THE best in the world, which is precisely what I said was overboard. |
