good teams find way to win and that's what we're starting to do now. we don't win this game before the trade deadline imo.
obviously i wish we scored more goals but we're not gonna put up 3 goals every night. we've been scoring a decent amount recently and it's just inevitable that we have a flub like tonight. - rangerdanger94
Well, I agree. Because Gaborik (on a team who can't score goals) was the problem.

I'm still waiting for you to figure what a model franchise is? The pens, now maybe. But to become that model franchise they had to draft top 5, five years in row. The Hawks now but again, to become that type of team they had to draft top 10, four years in row. Along with their run in the top 10 picks, they were book ended with years of drafting 14th and 11th. If you had said Detroit is a model franchise this aregument would have ended, because you would have been right and sounded intelligent. Detroit routinely trades their 1st round pick, while competeing for Cups and they know what works best for their young playerss. But god forbid you use the sad excuse of brain.

Maybe Snow will sign Redden, Gomez, Naslund and Gaborick for 500 Million Dollars for 5 years. Then we'll really have a great team. - kencan98
Butt hurt post of the night.
You guys deserved the win, no honest Ranger fan could say otherwise, but that's how it goes. Henrik was superhuman, def in playoff form. Both our teams are on they're way to the postseason. Lets enjoy the moment of great NY hockey last night.

we traded a 31 year old player with a 7.5 million cap hit for 3 players in their early to mid 20's.
I know it's hard for accept for people to see the Rangers in reverse, usually it's trading 3 young players for a 31 year old, but things aren't the same as they use to be.
I think the Islanders are awesome, really good team now, future couldn't be much brighter.
One thing they will have to learn to do is stop complaining so much about penalties, from the coach on down, they do it constantly, that rubs off on the fans and the fans do it constantly.

Reading all your posts and everything you really are a (frank)ing moron. I think you should pick up another sport because you are straight up talking out of your ass with regards to the Rangers and building a team. My God man you're an embarrassment to the Islander fanbase. Anyway it was a great game and the Islanders def carried most of the play for sure. Hank stood on his head and he is the only reason why that game went to OT. You guys have a really good team that's only going to get better.

I'm not embarrassing myself at all. The Rangers are not a solid team at all and actually, neither are the Islanders. After being touted (like usual) as the team to beat, the Rangers are barely in a playoff spot. I don't call that "solid".
The Islanders are on a hot streak. I'm hoping it doesn't end but who knows. The Islanders have had hot streaks of 8 to 10 games before only to go on and lose 4 or 5 straight.
We will see what happens but one thing is for sure, for the Rangers to call themselves anything other than a disappointment would be silly. I'd you'd like to stick up for them, fine. But I won't and never will. - kencan98
Huh? When? 15 years ago? We had never even won more than 5 in a row under our last three coaches.

This is a Ranger fan talking about a loudmouth coach. Really? Have you looked behind your own bench lately?
A team that can't score traded their leading point producer over the past few seasons. I'm not at all saying the Islanders are any smarter but that was a dumb move.

Maybe that is the perception at this point, but I disagree that its the case.. There bave been many occasions over the last few years that I thought we were completely robbed by the officials and pissed even more to find our coach had nothing to say about it. One thing is for certain, Tavares does not get the respect from the officials that other star players receive night in and night out, and other than turning his palms up as he readjusts his helmet, he rarely says anything. Last night was a good example. Getting his stick held, turns to the ref with his free hand out as if to say 'wtf' and the ref continues to watch him get held, then they cal him for retaliating. No way that happens to Crosby. Then he gets knocked clean off his feet by a stick to the face in front of two officials. No call.
The refs are letting teams play, which is a good thing, but some calls can't go ignored. Tavares has taken a lot of abuse ovver the last few years with little respect from the officials. Sometimes where there's smoke, there's fire.
And NO, you don't call a "broken stick" penalty in a 0-0 game with 2 minutes left in a game where playoffs are on the line. - kencan98
this is an automatic call, especially when it gives the player an opportunity to score a goal like Okposo was going to have.
You have to call that, the complaining Okposo did after the call really warranted a misconduct penalty, as did the complaining Carkner did after his penalty.

For the record, I've only heard Cappy complain about the officials a few times over the last few years. If anything he tends to not even complain TO the officials enough., Weight is far more vocal in that case
Again, I understand you're a Ranger fan but just try a little. Have mom read it to you.
