It's funny when he says "Imagine our blueline with Doughty and Voynov "

At that point, if we play along with his game, Doughty and Voynov will BE our blueline

I doubt you could get Willie Mitchell for that mess.

Bob Rotruck tweeted that the trainer was on the ice before play stopped. Sounds like a pretty bad leg cut...in the last ten minutes

I don't think that trade is plausible which is why I said there was little chance of it happening. I think its a little bit absurd that you think these 2 have NO value to other teams, and we might as well scrap them for draft picks. Where would that leave our blue line then? What I'm saying is, instead of trading these 2 for 2 more mediocre defenseman, Homer should bundle their value and try to get 1 good defenseman instead of 2 average ones. I never said that trade would happen, or make sense to happen, I just said the value wasn't that far off, provided the draft pick is right.

See, I'm gonna be the realist here and say that a) I don't want Homer to trade nor will he trade either of those guys and b)I never said those 2 have no value to other teams

If both guys get healthy and rebound, the Flyers will have two good defensemen, making reasonable cap hits.

Well to make your premise clear, speculate what All Star defenseman you would target, and what you give up to get him?

The biggest issues I see is how you misread Coburn, Meszaros, and Grossmann's value to the Flyers

Oh, well there have been about 3 people insulting my intelligence about my post, and I'm certain one of them had made those claims. But does the value of two mediocre defenseman whom both have the STRONG potential to be great defenceman (if they can find their game again), a solid shut down defenceman, a long time proven leader and amazing playoff performer, and a couple of seconds and a first, doesn't even come into the ball park of value for an all star defenceman, and a more average offensive defenceman? Especially to a current playoff contender?

Not sure. I lean towards no, but if they're simply going to wait a year for the sake of waiting a year, might as well cut bait, get a stopgap and have him split time with Mason.

If all they're gonna do is pay lip service to keeping Bryz past next season, cut the cord now, see what Mason can do before waiting until next year and making the same mistake.

The goalie situation, it just never stops... It's like the QB situation in Miami since Marino left, and im a fan of both teams

Why can't we just get our Lundqvist already?

Briere has a 6.5M Cap hit. 2 more remaining years on his deal. And a NMC. So even if you could find someone willing to trade for him, he would likely not fetch a good return, based on the factors I noted.

Coburn and Meszaros are not mediocre defenseman.

You want a playoff contender to trade you an All Star defenseman and a more average defenseman from their team, for the players you deem as cast offs.

It's not that people are insulting your intelligence. But the proposed trade you submitted is really bad, for numerous reasons.

First off, with the cap going down, you propose trading $19mm in contracts to a playoff contender. Not a lot of playoff contenders can handle that kind of cap hit.

Also, what playoff contender is going to trade an all star defenseman for two guys that "could" be solid defensemen? Most playoff contenders want a sure thing on the blue line, not guys that could rebound.

It's a deeply flawed proposal on several levels.

Why on earth would a playoff contender want 2 guys that are lost for the season??

To quote the movie Philadelphia (Streets of Philadelphia is indeed one of my favorite Bruce songs, by the way).... "I'm gonna explain this to you like you're a 4 year old."

1. Quality, not quantity. You just said "mediocre". And enough with the "potential". These guys aren't 21 years old. There's no trading for potential here. 3-4 decent players does not a #1 defender make, picks or no picks.

2. You're not going to get a good return for question marks, let alone 30 year old question marks. How many times do you say "if"? How many times is there a condition?? "IF they can find their games....." Sure. But that's an if. Please, inform me what conscious NHL GM would trade away their #1 dman (or #1 prospect) for 3 question marks?

3. This is not even close to the package a team would want for an All Star caliber defenseman, let alone this All Star defenseman plus another good puckmover. That would cost Schenn and/or Coots and picks.

4. This is NOT PS3. This is real life- their OVR rating isn't the only thing that balances a trade.

I'm going back to micro.

TB or not TB?
That is congestion-
Consumption be done about it?
It's gonna take a lung, lung time....

Tampa beating the caps, lets hope it stays like that we need the help (doubt it, unless Bishop stands on his head again).
