Actually Isles and Ranger fans are exactly the same.

Rangers do their "wait till next year" on July 1

Islanders do it at the draft.

Neither has worked very well.

Josh Bailey is out Scott Gomez. Okposo is our Wade Redden. Massive expectations and complete "wait till next year" players and all have failed.

this team is far from perfect but my god they are playing their asses off and giving an honest hard working effort. that's all you can ask for as a fan. I know they have holes in the lineup but i'm not female doging. and I honestly don't give a poop about what happened in 2008 or 2005 or 2000 or 1992..i don't care..this team is in the playoffs with nine games left and anyone who isn't happy with that should be slapped in the throat

But I want to argue more about past drafts when we're fighting to keep a playoff spot!

I think its beyond (frank)ing hilarious that this dude picks this particular group of Islanders fans to call "homers." He's basically trying to rip posters who have been calling out our management since the first day they've posted here. I tried to tell him that on Thursday night, but he kept ignoring that point.

Yeah, I don't think any of the Islanders fans here, or anywhere else on the internet, are a bunch of homers. If anything, we b*tch so much that it gets ridiculous after a while. Like I said though, that's what happens when you have an 18 year rebuilding program, because your previous GM had the brains of the ape from which he has not quite descended as yet. I always said that putting this team on auto draft and keeping all of the players would make a better team than the one Milbury built, and I was right. Of course, Snow COULD try to do SOMETHING with some of those assets, but I digress...

What's the deal with Nilsson is he healthy enough to play yet? If so he should be playing over DP no? My guess is Nilsson is not ready yet

he is starting to practice again and has put on about 10 pounds of the weight he lost...I'm pretty sure that he will be shut down for the rest of the year..from what I have been told its starting to get under control and it sounds like he will be good to go when camp opens

Gotcha I just saw that he dressed as the backup for DP last night and wasn't sure what his deal was since he came back

not me. Garth is way smarter and more shrewd than Lamorillo and Cappy makes Scotty Bowman look like Morris Buttermaker.

What make it all the more amazing is that he's been lurking around here since 2009. It shouldn't take someone more than a day or two to see it. I keep wondering if he's just pulling our chain.

haha....I stopped posting for awhile back (maybe a year or two ago) because I felt like I was typing the same poop every other day. It was always something negative. I was getting sick of reading my own posts, even if they were 100 percent correct.

It would be awesome. I'm just happy to be watching exciting hockey again though. This team has been surprising the hell out of me.

I give him mixed reviews but given the circumstances, he's done okay.

i think we all feel that way since we post here day to day. Rarely will culture change fast enough to not have to cover the same ground over and over

Like I've been saying it's nice to see improvement. Let's not get to ahead of ourselves or get ahead of yourselves, who cares? this is the best hockey we've seen in six years. Weve all been over this enough over the last god knows how long? Team is competing to get in the playoffs finally. How great a gm snow is or not is kind of a waste of time convo we finally have interesting hockey to watch and talk about on here. everyone knows my opinion but I honestly have zero idea why anyone is focusing on this now? I'm trying to figure out which Coleman grill I'm going to get for the tailgate and whether I should get a room at the marriot?

Hickey has been playing well for us. Been a pleasant surprise especially for it being his first real season on the NHL.
- Cptmjl

good to hear. we drafted him 4th overall and obviously that was too high. though his offensive game didnt quite develop like we wanted he worked extremely hard in the ahl to develop his defensive game and its good to see he's having a little success.

with hickey and moulson...snow and the islanders have done well grabbing king players that for whatever reason just haven't worked out for us. good for moulson and hickey and good for the islanders.
