Happy to see reasoner not in the line up. Even though I'm not a fan of big tits he should be the choice. Lee needs to go to the bridge.

What are you, a gay?

Sorry I couldn't resist a chance at stupid humor.

I'd kinda like to see Lee play, I wanna see what he's got. But I agree that Joensuu is probably the logical choice.

Lol. Didn't even realize what I wrote there . Awesome. I haven't watched joensuu play in a while but I saw enough of lee the other night to know he needs to improve on his skating, defensive play, and passing to know he van make a serious gaffe that might lead to a Tampa goal. The kid had a great night scored his first NHL goal. Let him go to the bridge holding his head high and learn the game. The Tampa fans are pussed on their blog over Dees blog. Lol. We may have a few of them inhere tonight? Seems they are staging an event like the rag fans did over the Nash blog

Don't take it personally....I think most of the teams in the NHL are cr*p, including the Islanders when they don't play defense properly.

The only teams in our conference that are better than us when they play up to their highest capability are Boston, Pittsburgh, and the rag$, as far as I'm concerned- in other words, if they're clicking on all cylinders, you're not winning more than one game in a seven game series against them. The rest of the teams are very beatable (including us). That's what I mean by cr*p- and I think the whole West, excepting Chicago and Anaheim, are ALL cr*p. None of those teams play defense, EVER.

I agree- but again, extenuating circumstances have caused us to rush players since Snow has been in charge, unlike the former situation during the reign of King Dinglebury the Impatient. Nino was rushed because we had no options in regards to developing players in his situation in our own system, other than to do what we did. That is a result of the stupid agreement between CMJH and the NHL. That said, as soon as they could put him in Bridgeport, where he should have been last year, they did so. Bailey filled a need (we barely had enough players to actually fill a lineup card, at that point). Strome, as I see it, should get a shot to see what he can do- but I agree it should be for a handful of games, until it's obvious he's ready.

- dcb1

I agree with everything you've said (again), and this is the exact reason why we need to sign Boyes to another year. Maybe bring Strome up, give him a few games, mix him into the top line and if it works, dump Boyes at the deadline. But throwing him onto the first line without a plan B is not a smart move and it will end him up like Bailey or Nino.

Yeah, I can only remember one guy who wanted Hedman, in all of the various dicussions I participated in. Most of the argument was between Duchene and Tavares, mostly because one or two Canadian writers said Duchene was better, and the woe is me contingent assumed that Snow would draft the wrong guy, whoever that might be. That said- once my friend used the word "bored" in discussing Tavares' last year in junior, I knew he was the right answer.

I think we need an upgrade over Boyes- be that Strome, a UFA, a trade, or someone else on this roster. He's too similar to Moulson, and Moulson is a lot better. We need someone tougher on his side of the ice for that line.

- dcb1

I don't know about here because I don't participate in Islanders dicussions much because of what you've heard over the past two days. If you go outside of here though to just about every other hockey related discussion involving Islanders fans prior to the 2009 draft, I'd say that about 20% of them were all in on Hedman and about 40% of them were not sure on JT (trade first pick, grab hedman or duchene).

You can read some here > http://hfboards.hockeysfu...t=648613&highlight=hedman

And that's just one thread from one board. There's hundreds. Literally. The main argument is that a good D man is harder to come by. But no one knew that in 2008 when we were trading down like we'd just won the cup.

Lets try to end the discussion of the 2009 draft.....
Tavares has been watched years before the 09 draft, just like Stamkos, Hall, etc.
these players have been considered FRANCHISE players thru out the hockey world. When a losing team needs a turn around, they draft a FRANCHISE player not a D.
FRANCHISE players change the perception of an organization, Crosby, Malkin, Ovi, Tavares, Stamkos, Hall, etc all have changed the teams culture, and bc at that time, the Isles needed a FRANCHISE player in the worse way over any type of possible shut down D.......

No matter what the media, or anything else, Snow knew who he was taking from day 1.......

#Isles going with Nabokov in goal, same D as in DC, appear to be choosing between Joensuu and Lee up front. Reasoner out.

- eichiefs9

JJ has been injured all season and hasn't played much vs. Lee who played his whole season & playoffs and is in game shape. Hmmmm, this one must have had Crappy up all night tossing in bed. Bet he flips a coin....

If we make playoffs, we better pull off 7th place. This team has a chance vs. Montreal but no hope vs. Pens.

My two cents, I think they have to get a look at JJ before the playoffs to know if he's a better option than noReason, because they aren't keeping Lee up that long.

I'm at the game and some kid walks by with a #16 jersey. I'm thinking it pretty cool that a young kid has a LaFontaine jersey. He turns around and it's a Reasoner jersey. WTF??

So the others that said it never happened are proven wrong and now we just move on?

Got it. Overlook all the terrible decisions made by the organization and promote more terrible decisions (like bringing up Strome) and just deny they ever happened a few years later.

Got it.

And you are right. They needed a franchise goal scorer more than anything else. Especially after passing on a pretty solid D man in order to draft for the Sound Tigers the year before.

Typical Islander response.

Keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. What's that the definition of?

Bullshi!t penalty. Hit Stamkos with one hand, he falls down, ref LOOKS at who the player is and calls a penalty.

Why doens't that happen with Tavares?
