I don't get why you add to tell me all of this. I realize that the Yankees are a 3rd place team this year. And I am one of those yankees who was kid 1995-2004. I remember Cleveland in 97, Arizona in 2001, Anaheim in 2002, Florida in 2003 and Boston in 2004. In 2008 the Yankees didn't even make the playoffs if you remember. Is it? Aside from Huberdeau and Markstrom who do you have that is even close to being an actual nightly contributer to the big club? As far as I can tell the Rangers are a pretty young team and have a ton of kids already making significant contributions.

The roster just didn't really mesh well. Too many one-way guys, not enough balance, etc.

At one point we really had 2 fourth lines, and with Gaborik and Richards struggling, we had 1 line that could score (some combo of Nash, Stepan, Callahan, and Haglein).

The balance we have now should help us.
