Does anyone else think it's kind of crazy that Washington gave up Filip Forsberg for Erat? I don't know much about Latta, so he must not be too big of a name. - HonkFortheGoose
He's a decent center prospect who has been in the AHL the last two years
He'll prob make Washington's roster next season |

I still think Miller gets traded at the draft. - HonkFortheGoose
Same here. I could see him getting dealt to Colorado but as one other person here mentioned we'd be flirting with the salary floor so we'd have to take a decent sized contract back. |

If he gets that hip taken care of in the offseason then I think his health will be a lot less of an issue. - HonkFortheGoose
I like Ville and think he will be a nice player even if overpaid. Just can't imagine any veterans really having any interest in staying around for this rebuild. What's happening now and what they preached to Ville when signing him are vastly different things. Need some good vets like Chris Phillips in Ottawa that just plain want to be here and see it through. |

i'd imagine they weren't happy with the way he was progressing but who knows.
its not a deal i would have made, and i wasn't as high on forsberg as most are. |

I don't know that giving up Forsberg was a good idea though either. |

i'll second this.
flyers getting worse between the pipes (their biggest problem area) makes them worse. and they gave up a pick. |

At the least I thought it'd be Staff and a 2nd for Johansson... - LetsGoBuffalo75
Funny how things escalated...staff to miller and staff.
Johansson to Backstrom, Holtby, Neuvirth and others
Hockey trade excitement can really get the best of ya |

Well, Leino doesn't have much choice unless they buy him out. And I don't think they will. But he's been pretty vocal about the leadership group here. It's time he put him money where his mouth is. If you don't like it, do something about it to change it. Now's the time, IMO. |

I think Vanek is gone too
And if that's the case, I don't see Ott wanting to re-sign...
And I bet Staff is gone as soon as Darcy can get a decent offer
I'd like to see Stafford take Pominville's spot w Vanek & Hodgson... Hopefully that gets him scoring enough to give him some decent value at the draft |

It's a fairly large upgrade over Leighton. It pretty much only cost them a 3rd rounder to greatly upgrade their backup... |

Since we're in full rebuild mode now.....do we still buyout Leino or try to find a taker for him? - twistedwrister9
Makes no sense to buy him out now. Let him stick for one more year, if its still bad, buy him out then. Get one more year off the books, plus we will need the body and salary anyways. |

I thought he was an upgrade on Leighton IMO as well. Good gamble to see if he can recapture his Calder form there, still young. |

I'm starting to wonder if we have enough bodies right now.
It's not like Rochester is overflowing with guys that can play. They're pretty decimated with injuries. |

I have an idea about what happened in Washington. No sources pure speculation
Miller and Stafford for Backstrom
Washington wanted Ennis or Hodgson instead of stafford
I could see Ennis and Miller getting Backstrom in the offseason |
