Enroth as well will get a small increase i'm sure. But yes that was what I was eluding too. This year's fa crop is very very weak and mostly filled with ageing over payed vets for the most part. I can see Hodgson getting a 5 year deal for about Derek Roy money around 4-4.5 per. And as you said Weber should get about 2 mill per. - Brockv
Yeah I just think we need to make a decision about our goaltending, if we keep Enroth he will be getting about the same as Weber.
For Hodgson I really don't want to (frank) around. Not saying we should give him a max contract or anything, but we shouldn't nickle and dime him, we don't want a Ryan O'Rielly situation here... |

Go max length and see if you can get him for 5 mil per.
His Dad/agent is going to be a bear to deal with this summer IMO.
As of now his prorated stats over an 82 game season are
28.8 goals and 35.5 assists for 64.3 points.
Agents tend to use those numbers when bargining. - dadeadhead
Yeah I think he will be around 5, I actually think that is fair for him. He is only going to get better IMO, he has good work ethic unlike Myers. |

IMO
Enroth 2 yrs 1 mil per
Weber 2 yrs 1.3 per
Hodgson is a wild card. IMO try and get a max length deal or a 2yr bridge deal. |

We have 2 critical RFA's - Hodgson and Weber. Hodgson I see getting near a 5M cap hit and Weber getting 1.5-2M. - rsj2588
Should be interesting
Darcy again waiting too long to extend a player
Could've done Hodgson before the season
Even if it was just 2years at say 2.8mil like Ennis got
Drives me crazy how little forethought this guy still has
Now he's gonna have to sign Hodgson to a Myers-like deal, and who knows how that'll mess with his head or not?
Ugh, frustrating |

2 yr bridge deal (as I think he becomes a UFA at age 27) for 4 mil per
Max length deal at 5 mil per
5 yr deal he's a UFA at the end, 2 yr deal he get arb rights.
Guess one has to find the lesser of three evils. |

Cody had little time in the NHL before this year. I would have had no clue what to pay him. He hadn't played a whole year in the NHL yet. |

I bet he could've been extended for 2.5m for a couple years
Decent raise for him without proving much, and not too big of a risk on our part
Now we prob are looking at paying him around double that |

For a guy that is on pace over a full season to have 64-65 points.
4 mil is the going rate. |

They may have asked and Hodgson's camp said no. Vanek's camp did that in 06/07. |

Don't be so sure
Why would Hodgson's agent/dad let him do that when he just saw how it all worked out for O'reilly?
Darcy blew it again

Why would Cody want to sign a deal before the season though? He wouldn't. He knows if he plays well this year it can net him a whole bunch more money and he was right. It's a two way street Darcy can't just sign guys whenever he wants, the player has to agree to it too. |

Possibly, different situation though
Vanek had already had a productive season & was more assured to a bigger payday |

He's on pace for 38 points in 48 gp this year. While it isn't 84 in 82 like Vanek, it is a very productive season IMO. |
