Ask me when we get there...
Until there is absolutely no way for us to get into the playoffs I'll continue to root for them.
Kinda like how I can't help root for whoever is playing Pittsburgh even though it may hurt our play-off chances. Can't tell my heart to stop beatin, ya know?

- FlyersGrace

I AGREE with that (and I think most "tankers" do too?). If we can get in the playoffs, then thats what I want to play for. When we are pretty much elimated, at that point I want the best pick possible.

I got a nice chuckle out of Prust's answer to "How's your shoulder?"...

"This one?" *POP*

Sure it does. Starting to correct bad habits and building a foundation for playing the right way. Absolutely helps the future of this team.

The young core is just that: young.

They can learn from a late season push, even if it comes up short.

1. i don't think he lasts 7 more years - but i'd say a good chance for 3-4.
2. let's see his play over an extended period of team when the team in front of is playing as defensively responsible as they are now.

WHAT!?! Seth Green is sexy! Of course I'm a dork who likes a guy with a warped sense of humor.
As an addition to the Flyers yeah he wouldn't be that impressive so I'll go with Seth Jones.

Problem is we only have the buyout available after this season and next. So he has 1 more season to prove he is truly what we need. If we decide to keep him then we can trade him but if he retires that cap hit comes back to haunt us (and considering this contract ends when he's in his mid 40's that's a possibility). That's not an issue if we buy him out. And trust me he'd cry to be paid all the money up front and then get re-signed someplace else...

Rooting comes in many forms. Rooting for a high draft pick for the FLYERS to have good future players for the FLYERS, means you root for the Flyers.

That does not make you a fan of a different team or not a true fan of your team. You are actually hoping your team improves in the future.

Also, we're not talking about starting a season tanking, or even now. After they are eliminated, different story.

Also, I'm sure you too would want the team to lose the last game of the season (with a strong effort) if it DEFINATELY meant 30th instead of 27th (especially with the top 3 this year). Do you disagree?

Actually I'm a dark hair and eye kind of girl... Think Eric Balfour... I just like Seth's Green's innocent face after warping something into a dorky sub-context.

The same people that root for then to tank to get a better pick, will be the same people calling for the player to be traded when he doesn't win the hart trophy in year one. Or comes back after a breakout season and struggles.

the 2 Bs will be bought out, Homer will get a couple of D men and he has some good draft picks to work with. I surely feel more positive about the future

You might find yourself disapointed on some of those predictions.

Why do you say that? Hoping for a high draft pick with all else is lost does not mean that the person wants a player to be traded in a bad year.

I want 30th if the flyers are in 28th near the end. I wanted to keep Bob. I want to keep Coots and Schenn. I LIKE young talent that needs to develop.. Why would you even make that statement?
