This looks like a team.

good compete, energy, and not giving up. good team defense too besides shifts right after they score. if I didn't know they have 4 no names dressed on D I would hve no idea, haven't even noticed them (which is a good thing).

Hopefully they can build some confidence and the young guys can break this sophomore stuff and take this mindset into next year if it doesn't translate into anything this year. as long as they learn and grow from this, i'm ok with it.

That's reallllllly hard to say about Bob when he had only played two years in North American hockey when they got rid of him. He was a risk, but at least we had developed him up until there. If they saw what CLB saw, and they still got rid of him, it makes me wonder what the (frank) was going on even more.

Is it possible they didn't know Bob was going to be good? Even scarier.

Of course, I like Bob and I hope he does well. However, my basic point there is not near the pressure in Columbus then Philly. Personally, if they want to buy out Bryz, I"m calling Thomas see what he wants to do. You can probably get him for a one year deal, and see if Mason can regain his form. Mason is still very young himself as goalies go, for what they gave up, I don't have a problem with the trade. I wouldn't not have traded a pick and Read for Bishop.

Not technically, because it's unspecified when it's deferred from.

I did pull the number out of my ass, because I figured anyone who blamed the salary of a hockey player for their cable bill was too dumb to be able to google CEO compensation. My bad.

Not really sure how the cba changes would affect Bob leaving or staying...the cap is gonna come down either way. My understanding is they got rid of Bob because he was an "expensive" backup and that BRyz was "the answer." Signing Mason at a higher price than Bob makes me question why they really got rid of him. Did they not evaluate him properly? Who knows.
- feelingkettle

what i mean is that 1) the buyout bryz possibility and 2) the fact that he can't retire later in his deal and just come off the cap (both of which didn't exist when they traded bob) make having a young, more expensive backup goalie a more attractive option

again, they still may be sick of bryz and ready to just move on from him no matter what. i don't know. i just think that those rule changes make a difference

There's nothing dumb about it. Someone has to pay for the bad contracts Holmgren is doling out. It's the customers.

However, it's is an ahole move to pull a statement out of your arse to defend your 'I am smarter than you' opinion.

Meh, I guess saying that, if there is less pressure in Cbus and Mason can't even handle that, how is he going to handle Philly?

Either way, my main concern is that it seems the Flyers have learned nothing from the past 5 or 6 years. Their impatience and obsession with changing plans every other year will continue to bite them in the ass, probably.

It's truly amazing what this team has done with the defense they've put up these last two games.

So the concencus in our household is that a fight, a goal, and a cut to the face should be called a "Simmonds trick"
