Actually, from Holmgren's interview it sounds like they expect to keep both

Around 1:35 or so he goes into it

The only question left is does Holmgren buy out Bryz this offseason or wait til the 2014 offseason?
- phillydentist

The way things are going if they wait he'll get hit by a friggin bus. I wouldn't blow the team up, but I'd dump Briere and Bryz's contracts. Briere's is way too high for his value and Bryz' is just way too long. Mason and Hall are a nice start.

as bad as Bryz looked on that 3rd goal, and it was bad, if the Flyers can tie it up early in the 3rd he'll have ample opportunity to redeem himself.

if that ends up being the deciding goal then the calls for Mason to get some starts will start earlier than anyone expected.

Honestly, do you think Homer would say "were going to buy Bryz out after trading for Mason"?

Honestly, at this point, I have a feeling they are going to try and buy out both of them.

It's a shame. Really liked the way they were playing until the last 2 minutes. Luke Schenn tried to do too much with the puck. And then the weird deflection goal.

Yeah I have to agree this is Bobs backup people. He'll get a few starts but not many the rest of the season unless he plays lights out. In reality I think he gets a few games and then this summer and training camp and next season to prove what he can do. Can Homer or Reese pick they games he plays? God forbid Lavi decides.

I'd love to know what Bob told him on the way out. "Good luck dude." (hysterical laughter)....

Remember when the Flyers scored that "off the boards" goal and were winning this game? Man. We were so young then. #tsn

These stupid ridiculous contracts (Bryz) are making Philly Comcast cable customers pay out the wazoo.

Getting Bob's backup really showed Holmgren isn't afraid to admit to a mistake (trading away Bob). I think he will buy out Bryz this summer as well. Cut your losses and start anew.

That would mean they resign him. It seems like an awful lot of cap space tied up in to 2 goalies. I doubt Mason takes much of a paycut. Though he should.

The effort and play the last few games has been there. Just need everything to go perfect which based on the year isn't going to happen.

Cool, let's take another risk on an even more unproven goalie than Bob, and after maybe 3 games he will back up the rest of the season.

I honestly think Homer looks even dumber trading for Mason after trading away Bob. I thought the knock against Bob was that he was too expensive for a backup?

Yes, the Bryzgalov contract is why cable is so expensive. Has zero to do with programming costs rising, as more and more networks get into producing their own movies, or rising gas costs, or equipment upgrades and repairs. None of that is a factor at all.

Until he's signed, it's up in the air. My first reaction was that Bryz was a goner this summer. Could still happen. But, based on the comments from Mason and Holmgren, it sounds like he's coming in to be the back up and push for time.

It was sweet how Knuble decided to shoot it right into Price's logo without picking his head up to look where he was shooting....

That's why I don't get a CD player in my truck. (frank)ing Bryzgalov.
