I would be a shame to break up the Schenn brothers, but I'd rather lose B Schenn than Couturier.
- Feanor

Yep. I'd love to keep B Schenn around. But if they want a solid, young blueliner, he might have to go.

Guess thats buffalos asking price. I'd be pissed if Philly gave all that up for vanek. Maybe coots for vanek straight up but I wouldn't add to it and I'd rather move coots for a dman but could Understand if Philly moved coots straight up for vanek. Guy is a beast in front of net and on pp. Good for 35 to 40 goals a year.

how would that work salary cap wise?

The important thing to take away from today is that, according to Bruce Campbell, the sequel to Bubba Ho-Tep is back in the works.

That might be the best news we hear all day

Well if he's moved today he won't be available in the offseason. I would do a second rounder and a player like Cousins or Noebels.
- PLindbergh31

Can't see anyone trading for Cousins till his situation is resolved.

I think Vanek makes north of 7 million dollars.

I can't see how he fits, salary cap wise.

we need somebody like that along w/ stolarz as part of a plan...instead of a prayer for bryz to play better if we start playing like the '95 devils
- isaiah520

What about Thomas Greiss out of SJ? He is a UFA is 27 and has very similar numbers.. Dont have to trade anything for him...

Stat on Bishop.

4-0 in shootouts this year, with an .813 save % while facing 19 attempts. Small sample size maybe, but he is very mobile for a big man with solid reflexes, not to mention he takes up a lot of net.

They don't give up a ton of odd man rushes, but they give up a bunch of quality chances per game. I watch them a lot. Their team save % leads the NHL by a significant margin. It has to do with their Goalies being talented.
- PLindbergh31

It's also the type of chances. Look at Curtis Joseph in Detroit. He's a guy that thrived when he had to move and make athletic saves in Toronto. In Detroit, as a set piece goalie, he struggled.

Look at Bryzgalov in Phoenix. He faced 571 fewer shots his first year as a Flyers than he did his last year in Phoenix, in just 8 fewer games. Shot numbers alone are not a true indicator, it's the style of goalie he is versus the style of chances he faces.

Now that his season is over I wonder if he sees any time with ADK or even the Flyers? Can he leave Canada?

If we buyout Briere you find a very good replacement.

I would love to add a guy like Vanek.. One of the best scorers in the game who also plays a very good all around game. Good two way player.

They seem to feel that he can sign an ATO and play for the Phantoms, at least the ADK media does.

B Schenn makes buying out Briere palatable. To lose both Briere and B Schenn is worse than replacing Couturier with Laughton.

A Briere buy out is probably the only way Vanek can fit.

I believe there are issues with tagging space, but that stuff's too technical for me to really understand.

They would just make it with Vanek. Couldn't do both him and Myers without dumping salary

I like him but his cherry picking gets old to watch. Likes to hang out at the blue line. Maybe that's what he's told to do not sure. I would move coots for him

Flyers would have to move considerable salary to add Vanek.

If they move Meszaros, Coburn and Talbot to LTIR they can fit him. But agreed, they'd be screwed next year.

I'll settle for the Flyers being a solid defensive team, and Bryzgalov playing at his current level behind that improved team defense.
