Will Mason backup? PH: “We see him as one of our 2 goalies, not only the rest of this yr, but moving forward. We’ll just leave it at that."

- hammarby31

Hmmm..what's better than having one goalie with a crisis of confidence?

TWO goalies looking over their shoulders!

Now we're talking.. None of our picks traded for this draft... Got a backup tender than actually play an NHL game, Claimed Hall off waivers and we'll fix the d at the draft... cmon lottery... I for one am ok with Homer's move and non move... plus we have Rosehill to argue about..
- Hextall271

overall...nothing stupid happened today, and they got some decent pieces without giving anything of REAL value up (of course our 2015 3rd rounder will turn into a future HOF d-man for the devils).

i just want to call Rosehill, Rosemont.

I go to Wegmans. I get my drums of Nyquil there too.
- Moose_15

I went to Wegman's a few days ago to pick up a few things. Never go into that place hungry. I think I spent 5x what I intended to spend because I went through the prepared foods section.

if they amnesty Bryz I will just sit and shake my head for.......oh, 2 weeks. I mean, if you wanted to annoint Bryz your number one and move bob cause he made too much....ok. but to only give up on Bryz a year later and trade for the guy backing up Bob just frustrates me.

Columbus is in the Eastern Conference next season, so no, I don't think so.
- bradleyc4

Flyers history dictates that they tend not to concern themselves with "next season" talk. The goal this year is the playoffs.

Re Mason: if he bounces back and becomes a good starter the deal is a steal, if hes a bust oh well a 3rd rounder aint exactly a kings ransome. I would of been much more upset if they had moved a good young forward for Bishop. Also i cant complain aboutvgetting Hall off waivers as I've been asking for someone who can win a faceoff besides Giroux.
- BiggE

Agreed.. Look what Tampa gave up for Bishop?? Jebus, and people think we switch tenders all the time.. look at Tampa...roloson is our man.. no wait Lindback.. not even half year later.. oh Bishop..

The Mason deal is very subtle for this year.

You watch and see.

I think the lack of moves showed that the postseason this year is a pipedream.

Really? Who's words did I twist? Give me one example
- SMS4016

Just curious... Your saying it's ok to take a shot on mason ( whose done nothing since his rookie year) except look absolutely horrible, but laugh at me for saying ho get bernier?

Example, the whiny baby fest displayed above. No one laughed at you for saying get Bernier. What they did was point out that Bernier would command a steep price, and what you were offering would probably not get it done. (I'm only kind of remembering the proposal, you make so many stupid ones its hard to keep track)

But what I do know is that when people disagree with you, you do everything short of threatening to take your internet ball and go home. You put words in people mouths and purposefully misrepresent what they DO say in a effort to make your own dumb ideas look more palatable.

Have I made myself clear? Or will you go cry some more about people being mean to you.

"Whaaaaaa, people challenge me on my ideas and I cant take it!" - SMSwhateverthehellyournameis

Now maybe Ill go get a life, but since that was your suggestion, history tells me that may not be such a good idea after all.

Doesn't matter: Rosehill, Rosemont, Rosewood, Rosebud.

The over/under on how many times he's actually in the lineup is 3.

Why wouldn't he? He won't get much on the open market regardless, and has a chance to play here.
- bradleyc4

that's what I'm hoping

that maybe they talked with his agent and have a number in mind

I like to think there was a plan in place for all this

Also makes me hopeful that they have a plan in place to fix the top end of the D this summer

Maybe he signs before his qualifying offer is due at a discount?
- Marc D

To be honest I think that is HIS only option for getting a good chance in the league. No one is actually going to pay this guy 3.2 or more per season with his epic crash (except maybe Philly )

Its gotta be eating at you guys that one of Phillys greatest, no greatest, coach's son is the GM of your arch enemy. I wonder if your situation would be the same if Ray Shero, who always loved the Flyers, was your GM

i don't think what homer says really means anything. i mean he's not going to come out and play his hand to the media, while also undermining mason at the same time. that said, i would not be surprised if they did this. if there's one thing i've learned aobut the flyers...anything is possible when it comes to moving players.

I would almost think they HAVE to play Mason this year. Even splitting the remaining games with Bryz, just to see what Mason has wrong and if it could be fixed.

Whether or not these games are enough of a sample size is a different question entirely.

In most of the state of PA (between Pittsburgh and Philly), it is actually still 1955.

meh, if my first ex-wife said no when I proposed I'd be a richer man today.

can't worry about stuff that you can't change.
