Is the 3rd rounder really 2015? If so not a bad move for a young goalie with some potential. Do RFA's in hockey ever get a pay cut? His $2.9 is too steep for a reserve.

1. I dont mind the Mason trade..one backup for another that is at least a bit more viable. The pick is a 3rd in 2015, who knows what happens by then. Seems clear to me though that something more will happen this summer with that much tied up in 2 goalies.


2. I know this was talked about earlier but Pommer for Hacket, Larsson AND a first and a second. W.T.F?!?!!?

3. People need to get over Bob..when he plays this way for a few seasons then you can call him legit until then he is just a goalie that is playing well right now.

4. Glad they didnt move any of the core for anything stupid.

Exactly. Let's also be VERY REAL here when talking about Bob... I don't care what ANYONE says, he would NOT have saved this team. Or, we wouldn't suddenly be in the playoffs or in contention. We have too many underlying TEAM issues. Sure, Bob may have helped, but he wouldn't have been much better than Bryz, in my opinion.

Agreed. Goaltending has been achilles heel of the team for many years. Sure the defense looks like crap on paper and plays like it, but it has been forward support that has been the worst.

Re Mason: if he bounces back and becomes a good starter the deal is a steal, if hes a bust oh well a 3rd rounder aint exactly a kings ransome. I would of been much more upset if they had moved a good young forward for Bishop. Also i cant complain aboutvgetting Hall off waivers as I've been asking for someone who can win a faceoff besides Giroux.

Why wouldn't he? He won't get much on the open market regardless, and has a chance to play here.
