Are you not getting it or just confused? Young gun (S)! Young player (S) have to produce in the modern NHL while they have low contracts.

BTW: How is Giroux producing this year? How is the team doing? *cough* #WakeUp

- Glak18

I don't know what you want. We all can't have these "Young Guns" you speak of. We have a good young core.

And only a point per game this year
- Jimmygrazz

Crosby averaging 1.6 ppg and he does that half retarded sometimes. Of course I am not comparing Giroux and Crosby. That's like comparing Bossy and Loob.

Exactly! Young guns that produce are needed not young guns that will potentially produce when they are 28.
- Glak18

Simmonds, Voracek, and Giroux aren't producing?

Mason makes 2x as much as Bob, is about the same age as Bob, and his best SV% in the last 4 years was .901. The Flyers just gave up a 3rd for a salary dump on Columbus's part.

Remind me why the Flyers got rid of a Bob? Both Mason and Bob are RFAs next year and about the same age. The main differences are that Mason costs alot more in salary and hasn't performed nearly as well.

Bob wont make it to RFA you can count on that....I think everyone agrees here that dumping Bob was pretty stupid. I see why the Flyers did but it doesnt make it right.

I agree, not all teams have them. The teams that win stanley cups do though.

He says: "Leighton and a third-round pick to Philly" That would mean that Philly is also getting Leighton, which we know is not true. I think we lost the 3rd, not gained it.
- steelydan

Holy crap.. just chiming in now.. I guess it's a reclamation project, but he makes 3 mil? That's a lot for a backup, but I guess he's a backup with upside.

Just saying what?

Having a collection of good young talent is nothing more than a start. Lots of teams have had that same start, never went anywhere further and then traded that talent away.

So you can't simply point to our young core and assume anything further.

Bryzgalov could be bought out this summer...I see no harm in making a deal to see if Mason can recapture his form.

All it is, is taking a shot on a 24 year old guy that was a rookie of the year a few years ago.
- Jsaquella

Just curious... Your saying it's ok to take a shot on mason ( whose done nothing since his rookie year) except look absolutely horrible, but laugh at me for saying ho get bernier? I'm a tad confussed?

Wouldn't the same reasons they used to dump Bob follow for Mason as well? They aren't going to pay him 3 mill/yr to be the backup next year are they? That's much worse than Bob's cap hit was this year.

Mason is making 3M?
That is a lot for a back up.

Is Bryz gone?

Not sure any of this makes sense right now.

OMG Homer should be fired right now!
