He didn't want to uproot his family to come here in the first place. Since he's a UFA this summer, he's not going to uproot them now with the possibility they'll be uprooted again in a few months. He puts his family first. So if he gets traded to LA, that means he's spending all of his time on the West Coast, while his wife and kids are still here waiting to see what happens in the offseason.

I'm more than happy to admit that Toronto has been a disaster for the better part of a decade. I don't take it personally. If you want to come to Augello's blog and throw some criticism at the Leafs, as long as it's fair (which I think mine was), you won't get any arguments from me. Do you honestly consider what I said trolling? If you do that's fine, I'll keep my opinions to myself. I wasn't aware that it works that way over here.

Apparently Giroux tweeted something saying good luck to Hartnell in St. Louis, but then deleted it. I wouldn't be surprised if it had something to do with April Fools day as well.

If he did, then he shouldn't have the position he does in the organisation, apparently professionalism is lost in all areas in the Sabres organisation.
