Instead of fire sale or anything. Lets go with the words " salary cap restructuring" then we won't feel bad about getting rid of anyone. |

Why does AV always answer to this stuff. In my opinion he has no right. He is so (frank)ing arrogant. He likes the image out there that he has just as much say as his boss I swear... - boonerbuck
Yeah, that was a little strange coming from the coach. Compare that to Michelle Therrien today who basically said it's all up to Bergevin and he'd like an upgrade for the right price but also okay with his roster as is. |

We scored!? It had been so long...Actually played decent to round out that period. Too bad we fell asleep for 2 and a half minutes again |

As much as I like Clowe, I think it's a risky move depending on what Gillis does. This team has scoring troubles. If they trade players who are at least scoring a little and Clowe still doesnt.... it will be last TDL all over again. Give up offense when scoring was already a problem.
If Jensen is involved, Gillis continues to hurt this teams future. If Clowe then walks... it's another disaster move unless Clowe comes alive big time in the playoffs. It's a gamble one way or the other and with out being supported by another big move involving legitimate scoring.... makes little sense to me.
If Clowe stays for 3 years at a reasonable contract... it would please me. - boonerbuck
Clowe should be straight up for Raymond or nothing.
SJ wants to get younger & faster.
Van wants to get bigger & badder.
Both guys are pending UFAs. Both guys are capable of 50+ point seasons. (in the past, Clowe's stats have benefitted from his role & linemates on that team... I think Raymond could easily be a 60pt player there depending on the opportunity he's given)
Most attractive part of this trade for me is enabling Kassian to find himself without having to be the alpha. I think he'll learn & benefit from observing the snarl/aggression Clowe plays with. |

We're talking about a re-BUILD, not a re-TOOL
No reason the Sedins are safe from that list either.... - Fosco
They are showing signs of slowing down. Teams figured out their cycle . It is time for movers . |

This. Kassian is going to become a beast in time, it'd be perfect to have someone to hold down the fort until that happens... How painful is this Sportsnet strategy room in-between periods. |

I'm done... this team needs a clean sweep, from Gillis on down. Injuries should never be an excuse, and you should be able to at least have the depth to be able to keep the talent level, even if the experience level is lacking in your call-ups. Right now, we have so many holes, there's no way we can fill them by Wednesday, not to mention our cap situation next year. |

I don't think it's all on them. They haven't had the support of a 2nd line that's a legit offensive threat in a long long time. If Gillis & AV would (frank)ing address that, I think the Sedins would return to the dominant players we know they are. |

I like the strategy room, it's hilarious listening to MacLean's excuses for being a horrible GM and Keenan's stories are always interesting... |

If you could get 4 tough fast years of a mean Clowe he would be worth the first. That being said you have to replace that first with a move like Edler Raymond to Flyers or Rangers for a MCD and a first (something like that) |

No, the team over all is losing a step .From Burrows Bieksa Hamhuis all of them time to replace the personel while they have value . We can't be sentimental or we will screw ourselves |

Clowe's never really been a great skater, but I'm sure you'll get his physicality. |

Exactly. Guys like Raymond ZHiggins Lapierre could all be second and third round picks . Kesler Edler firt round picks plus a very good player back. |

I'm never sentimental when it comes to asset management. I just don't believe that's the problem. This coaching staff has no clue how to use the talent they're given. |

I agree with this. It was only two seasons ago that this team was at the top of its game. The twins were unstoppable. Balance through all 4 lines.
This is all on Gillis and AV. Could not make the necessary adjustments. So close. |
