For me he's too soft, doesn't play with an edge and is invisible night where he doesn't do anything. - MapleLeafsFTW
For me, I'm tired of him (frank)ing up 8 out of 10 offensive rushes into the zone with his horrid stickhandling.
Yeah, I get it, he puts away the one-timers and open-shots like he should. Like any NHL'er should. Doesn't do much else though. |

I love Mark Fraser.
I think he's the beset 6th d-man in the league.
But let's be honest here - that still makes him a #6. |

Clowe will cost too much and hasn't really been plying that great. If the leafs make the playoffs, I'd rather give frattin the experience over a rental. If pa-neuf has to be our number dman, than try and trade for a number 2. Boyle |

defense should be the last thing on the leafs mind, since we got so many. Make use of what we got, not put in some plug of a veteran defender thats easily halting guys like blacker to make the team - Mapleleafs_91
how do you read #1/2 Dman, and in your mind process that as a Plug of a veteran Dman?
I want a top pairing D in his prime. It's the biggest whole on this team. Bigger need than a 1C, bigger need than a Goaltender.
Phaneuf is the only top pairing D on this team.
Trade Gunnar/Liles and Mac, plus 2nd or something to upgrade top pair. Might need to add more, but it needs to be done.

The Leafs could use a guy to be a steady influence on the young guys.
I don't know if a guy who talks about raping sheep is really what they are looking for. |

That's not gonna get what you're looking for (and I agree is the #1 need). It's going to have to be a package of one of the top prospects + pick(s). |

Thing is, they don't actually need a "top D" to partner with Phaneuf.
He's played exceptionally well this year with AHL rookies beside him.
We don't need to get him Scott Stevens.
We just need to get him Jamie Macoun - a vanilla stay at home who can compensate when Dion does something crazy. - Atomic Wedgie
but look how good we'd be with Scott Stevens!!!

And yet we're still 6th in league scoring per game. If they commit to any big move, it has to be another top D to partner Phaneuf. - lumlums
that would be nice too |

That's why I was pushing the Murray idea but then stupid Pitts had to go and get him too. |

At the very least, a guy who can eat 23-27 mins a night while not doing anything stupid. However you want to call it, thats what we need |

Brent burns was a right winger until Jacques lemaire turned him into a defense man after he was drafted. You guys are idiots. I joined just to say that. Most of you are horrible hockey fans. |

If we can pick up Clowe by trading them Macarthur as the center piece that would be ideal for us. Add some size and we wouldn't be losing much if any offensive production. - MapleLeafsFTW
I prefer Mac over Clowe. 2 years ago it would be quite different. |
