and Clowe has been better? - MCharisma91
touche.
but I have a lot more faith in Clowe's experience come playoff time than I do in Frattin.
next season, frattin takes his third line role and clowe hops into his 2nd line role (once resigned) |

I don't see your point. So he's versatile, Byfuligen played right wing too and can still play D. - MapleLeafsFTW
Isn't Burns on the wing because he can't play D well enough? He's a project ....not a top pairing dman ...not now. |

He shoots right, is a good passer and despite what you might think from this year is a pretty good defender. |

Blacker is 21, or is 25 an arbitrary age you assigned to players young enough to trade for? Burns is the perfect player to pair with Phaneuf. And is pretty much at most what we could hope for Blacker to turn in to. - MapleLeafsFTW
No, 25 is the age of the other RD in the system as in that's too old to have as your only RD prospect.
I'm not saying don't trade for Burns, I'm saying don't trade the ONLY RD prospect in the system when you could trade someone else. |

You don't see the point of obtaining a guy playing wing to turn into a d?
If you got buff would you be getting a winger or a d?
If burns isn't playing d for sjs and their d sucks, maybe that tells you something |

not sure about this either...they are gonna try him at centre on the fourth line tonight...we'll see. - Barx
Are they? |

right, say no to Blacker, give them Finn. - Big_Lightnin
Right now say yes to Blacker. Why would you say no?
Finn and Percy have been great on their minor league teams.
Blacker is coming up on his 2nd year in the AHL. He's near NHL ready for SJS to use and therefore don't have to wait for 3-5 years for him to actually contribute. |

I think a bunch of GM's will agree with this ...that's why I think the price will start with a late first rounder. For me that's too much.

Haha. but no doubt, you'd want a vet presence, but not over Frattin. Rather take out MacA or even Kulemin and keep Frattin, just because the past chemistry with Kadri (even though Kadri makes everyone look good) |

San Jose sucks this year, they're system is aweful. Burns played 6 good seasons for Minnesota and one good one for San Jose. They moved him to wing after his injury to try and generate some offense I think, he would be a good fit on this team. |

Why'd sjs move him to the wing? Was he defending too good? |

honestly, he would probably end up on the second and the leafs would resign him....he's the type of guy they need and with Macarthur gone after the season it would give him a permanent spot on the 2nd line. - Barx

Oh FFS... read the rest.
Leafs have 4 LD prospects and 1 RD prospect - Blacker.

Ohhh I figured it's not a big deal because Burns is young and also a righty. But if the Leafs could make this trade with any of our other D prospects except for Rielly I'd be good with it. Percy would be ideal for me. |

They did it to generate offense not because of how he was playing on D, he had just come off an injury and they tried him there. |

Yost was in here yesterday, and I was buying what he was saying until he told me that because Mac was getting more shots not playing with Kadri, he was playing better apart from Kadri. I'm all for this moneyball poop, but results are (frank)ing results. I'd take a guy who scores 30 goals on 140 shots over a guy who scores 20 goals on 250 shots any day of the week. - mykokes
I do not like how he dislikes quality of shots.....
I would take 20 komi shots from the slot over
20 crosby shots from the point (no screen)
Also quality of goaltending... Ottawa is still in it because there goaltending is off the charts.... Not because of their amazing fenwick numbers |

He plays for the Leafs. Other teams players are much better. When they sign for the Leafs, they are not good enough anymore. Grass is always greener man. C'mon |
