Sign Pedan. He'll be as good or better than Mayfield.

I'm waiting to see a post from Gallof saying that he talked to his source and the Islanders are staying pat. I wonder who his source is? It's probably the zamboni driver...

The Isles need solid veterans. I'm assuming the organization considers JT, Moulson, Bailey and KO veterans now but, they're still kids.

People on here want all of the vets like Vis, Streit, Nabby and Reasoner gone so you can make room for Strome, Reinhardt, Donovan, Nelson, Nino etc. but plugging all of those kids into a pro lineup together is not good. You sprinkle in the young talent slowly.

There is a HUGE difference between an 18-21 kid with no experience at that level and a late 20's player, already filled out and knows the ins and outs of the league.

Maybe 2 young forwards and a D-man see the opening lineup next year. But, not a full line and a half of forwards and 3 D-men. Especially with Strait and Hickey young already.

I would rather have somebody take a large smelly shat and leave it on the bench wearing an Islander jersey then have Reasoner on the bench

That doesn't make any sense. You would rather have Reasoner on the bench than have Reasoner on the bench? I'm confused.

He could be the Islanders "coverboy" when they move to Brooklyn...

He and OV would look awesome in Islander Jerseys opening night at the Barkley Center.

Arthur Staple @StapeNewsday
Capuano giving Cizikas a spin with Tavares and Boyes, Moulson w/ Aucoin and Grabner while McDonald sits for fight.

Love the idea, hate the winger that was replaced.

Canuck blogger.....

"Luongo to the Isles— book it

No sources on this one, but who needs those with all the obvious signs pointing in the Islanders direction.

- Isles are only two points out of the playoffs
- Isles are 28th in the NHL in goals against
- Isles have good, young NHL players that would fit Gillis asking price
- Isles have no Goalie right now and non in the wings that will ever be NHL starters
- The Isles I'm sure would love to dump DiPietro and have another team buy him out
- The Isles have the cap room to help the Canucks out.
- The Isles to get to the cap floor next year
- The Isle need another star whose name will sell tickets

Let's get Snow and Gillis together on this one and make it happen. The Isles fans deserve to have their team take a shot and the playoffs after years of not being relevant and John Taraves deserves to be on a team that wants to win instead of continually re-building.

To Vancouver- DiPietro (buyout at season end), Niederreiter, Bailey and Kichton
For
T NYI- Luongo and Ballard

The Islanders get the boost they need to make a run and make the playoffs as well as solve their revolving door that they have had in net for the past decade. Vancouver gets cap space and three of good prospects going forward. "

what do you all think?

this was my response on his blog.....

Agreed, Ian u have to put the pipe down. 1st the Isles don't need Vancouver to buy out DP when we could, plus Luongo salary is much higher and longer, so that doesn't make sense either. And then you try to pry away Bailey, Kitchon, Niño for the scrub Ballard.
Keep dreaming, Isles gain salary, and help u release salary

More like Bailey & Kitchon for Bieska
Now u might have something!!!!!

Try again......

I agree that trade is way too one sided for Vancouver.

Crappy is such an ass clown that he can't even substitute a player for a shift without screwing it up....Break up Tavares & his best friend. AYFKM? Left hand or right hand shot aside, anyone in the nhl can play on their off-wing for a shift or two.

Guy is a joke and reaffirms this on a regular basis.

How many behind-the-back-passes did they attempt on that PP?
Cut the cutesy crap and shot the pill!

Oh, we're gonna make Philly look like they're in first place tonight. Here it comes.....
