Hi Eli
I have a really hard time trading TT for a rental. TT should have been a top 10 pick and we got him much later. For example I would trade TT as part of a package for a young center like Skinner from Carolina, Coutourier, Brassard or Eller maybe in the off season but not now.
Iginla if he was 5 years younger would have been great and yes I would have sent TT. For a rental no!

Earlier you, me and JJ and many others said we were offering too much, when the deal was a first,McNeil and a player or other prospect. We are all hot for Iginla but at what price?

To add on, if it is indeed Bolland, Prospect and Pick, Calgary can move Bolland for another player, prospect and or pick and you turn Iginla into 4 players.
- TrueGrit

Great point. Though I don't see him being moved (Bolland) immediately if they went for this trade. We NEED live bodies that play Center.
Can trade him next yr once Cervenka agrees to play Center full time.

I guess you don't believe Bowman when he says he isn't looking to delete from the current roster in order to add at the deadline. Bolland won't be going anywhere this season - except maybe back to his regular position as #3C in April.
- RickJ

Maybe not, but I don't believe anything a GM says publicly before the deadline. Why show your best offer for all to see? Same thing with PC saying Spooner is untouchable.

For those who don't agree, look how LA won the game last night! Trading for Iginla is one trade I hope Bowman doesn't make!

I thought we needed a center who can win faceoffs and play on the second line

Bolland may very well be gone soon, and I am guessing JJ is just biting his tongue and lip to tell us that Kane will resume center duties between Iginla and Sharp. But he does not want to get the cart before the horse.
- TrueGrit

Or maybe Stalberg is dealt for a pick and Bolland moves back to the 3rd line centering Shaw and Bickell?

If we lack center depth I don't know how this would be a possibility.

Should be Sharp and not Kane between them IMO.

Seriously how are we moving a roster center and a prospect center when the Hawks have absolutely no depth at center

This is all about the chance to win now. Does Teravainen give you a chance to win now? Iginla does give this team a chance to win now.

I don't see it. I say Iginla goes to LA and Clowe goes to Chicago.
Plus, you don't have to spend as much to get Clowe.

Either way, good blog

- FLflames34

Oh Saad Christ......

If Clowe comes to CHI, I will fork out the money to get a customized jersey with his # on it & the letters "S-H-I-T-H-E-A-D" above it. Scum like him have zero place in this league. Not to mention he is a very average hockey player.

If Stan misses out on Iginla, I say we go for Ott or Roy.

This I could see happening. Shaw replaces #25 on RW and Stalberg moves on, maybe even to Calgary where Feaster will pay him more money than the Hawks will.

Is UFA Stalberg + the Hayes Bros. too much for Iginla? (I don't think so).

Stalberg and TT for Iggy?
- whipper334

I'd be all about this. the question is how does Iggy get re-signed in that trade, with the cap going down?

This is why I don't buy the 'no roster player' company line. Is it not feasible.

Edit: why I keep saying Bolland and a prospect like McNeil (if not TT). The pick is not imperative, and Bolland sheds significant salary. Iggy will likely re-sign at a discount too.
