First of all, this is the NHL...no guarantee of anything come playoff time regardless of the players acquired at the deadline...it's a grind.

That being said, I personally would be reluctant to swap TT for an aging Iginla...bad feeling about that move. Then again, I'm just a fan...what do I know.

Then that makes me want him to go to LA even more.

Though Chicago would be fine, if Stalberg, Bolland, and a conditional 2014 1st (or 2nd) if Iggy re-signs. That is more than I thought would be possible.

I don't see it. I say Iginla goes to LA and Clowe goes to Chicago.Plus, you don't have to spend as much to get Clowe.

Either way, good blog

How about Teuvo (top prospect) and Bolland...no pick?
I'd be happy to do that. Bolland being some salary to allow them to re-sign Iggy
edit: they can throw in sarich for D depth

You know, while I care . . .

I really don't if it means there's a parade to attend in Chicago in June. Can't worry about the future if moving a piece that is only promise today for sake of the CUP this year is a trade I make.

We b!tch and b!tch about Stanley having no stones to make a deal. Then we get wind of him MAKING a deal but including TT and the crowd goes nuts??????????????

Can't have it both ways guys.

- savvyone-1

Agreed. He shouldn't be afraid to move any prospect. A am saying something more should come back. TT plus a pick should be Iginla and a pick or Glencross. I think TT is rated as one of the top 15 prospects out there now. He could be a Kane like player for a decade for Calgary. He is a star prospect for a rental and that is a serious overpayment.

I do not believe any post could provide a logical reply why another GM would want Bolland in a trade.

Only for the post season....that is it.

With salary cap next season do you as a rival GM take Hus salary and health?

Do not need to poll anyone; I am certain no one can put up a good argument. If I am wrong, I will admit.

BTW way EKolb I agree with your trade suggestions. But I also believe that if Tervainen us included, then Bowman has panicked. And since you see a lot if Icehog hockey, I for one would appreciate any thoughts on how Nordstrom looks. Maybe after a few more go you get an early idea on Hus transition to AHL. No one ever answered if Beach has better balance in skates thus year. But it us probably a moot point. He remains immature on ice and my guess us he skates for Tallon at Florida's AHL team next season

What prospect + Bolland do you see being fair to both sides?
A roster player needs to come back to make the cap ok for next yr, and Bolland seems the likeliest.

Throwing in TT is way too much for a rental. If TT is available, Stan should make it known to all the teams and I bet we get someone very good and younger.

Honestly, I don't get the Iggy love.
Hard miles to this point, seriously have to question if he has 2 or 3 more years in the tank?

sad when other GMs are asking WTF? about stanbo

McNeil and Bolland. I do this as long as Sharp agrees to play the middle! The Hawks would still need to go out and find another lower line center

At face value, yes your assessment is correct. However, you have to think about things this way.

1. Do not know Calgarys roster very well, but Bolland maybe getting a fresh start could help rejuvenate him. Additionally, he would be playing in pacific division and he has a good record of being tough on Sedins and can check their divisions best talent.

2. The other possibility would be acquiring him now and moving him for prospects and picks soon after or in the summer. The Flames can move Bolland to places the Hawks can't or won't.

How is that for an answer?

Now that makes complete sense. Living just outside of Calgary I see Iginla lot's, and he is no where near the player he once was. All those years of tough play have taken their toll. He is still a leader and will add to your offence but is that what we need? How about a center ice man who will win more draws than he loses? I would be very reluctant to give Calgary anything more than a pick, and actually think that Kiprusoff, although getting long in the tooth, would do more for the Hawks drive to the Cup than Iginla.

First of all, this is the NHL...no guarantee of anything come playoff time regardless of the players acquired at the deadline...it's a grind.

That being said, I personally would be reluctant to swap TT for an aging Iginla...bad feeling about that move. Then again, I'm just a fan...what do I know.

Does Chicago have a first, and if so, do they include that with a prospect?
Is TT completely untouchable?
