Get Iginla and maybe a Matt Hendricks!!
Make the fans happy and excited.
Let the other teams and your players know that the Chicago Blackhawks are serious about winning and winning this year!
It will be a domino effect and it will help momemtum.

Also this summer McDonough is likely going to need Stan to have satisfactory answers to a few questions. 1) why so many no trade contracts-- necessary or poor negotiation - jhawk59
well, that seems to be one of the things that go with a McDonough regime, no? Hendry was handing those out to everybody with McD as his boss - turned out to be a total nightmare with new management having to eat a lot of dough to get rid of players like Zambrano (or just paying out a bad contract in Soriano) |

Even though it's Western Conference, I'd love to watch Iginla make a run with the Hawks. More fuel to the CHI-VAN rivalry too.
By all local reports, Iginla is not a rental and is hoping to re-sign wherever he goes. |

As long as Stan doesn't massively overpay that would be a very successful trade deadline.

True but sometimes its a calculated risk.
Right now we are very close and have the depth..may not be the case when we have to renew the Toews and Kane contract. |

Nor should he massively overpay. I'm alright with some sort of overpayment. |

Big Picture
Feaster can not be seen as getting fleeced. You have to give him something. Sounds like the Hawks are moving that way.

Not sure why TT is a "untouchable" at this point. What exactly has he done to warrant that tag? I understand the kid has a lot of upside yada yada yada but more than a couple teams passed over him in last year's draft. I am not suggesting the Hawks should trade all of their prized prospects, but this is Jarome Iginla we are talking about here AND a legit chance to win the Cup THIS YEAR.

You know, while I care . . .
I really don't if it means there's a parade to attend in Chicago in June. Can't worry about the future if moving a piece that is only promise today for sake of the CUP this year is a trade I make.
We b!tch and b!tch about Stanley having no stones to make a deal. Then we get wind of him MAKING a deal but including TT and the crowd goes nuts??????????????
Can't have it both ways guys. - savvyone-1
First of all, this is the NHL...no guarantee of anything come playoff time regardless of the players acquired at the deadline...it's a grind.
That being said, I personally would be reluctant to swap TT for an aging Iginla...bad feeling about that move. Then again, I'm just a fan...what do I know. |

If you consider our top 3 prospects to be Danault, McNeil and Teravainen (we'll leave out Saad because he's on the roster) would it be really that bad to part with one of them for Iggy? Especially if he could be re-signed for 2 - 3 years? Either way we'd still be left with 2 solid prospects, and of the three I would guess that Danault is the least likely to go. |

New poster, longtime reader so go easy on me. We all agree that we need grit and help down the middle. Same problem basically for years. Sharpie played there really out of position to help win the Cup. We now have Dainault and McNeill arguably the 2 best center prospects(not including Toews) in years and we are willing to ship out McNeill for a rental, maybe 2 years max out of Iginla. I know TT is supposedly great, but I heard him compared to Kane, we have him already. Unless we are planning on Kane going somewhere can we afford 2 of those guys on the same roster? Meaning do we have enough grit/protection. I say no. Our history with Euro forwards not so great either. If TT gets it done for Iggy grow a pair and do it, keep the centers if possible.. Too many good centers is a great problem to have and affords you the ability to offload that surplus for help elsewhere. For my money and fandom Iggy plus a Pyatt like pickup is huge for a long playoff run. |

Before the game would be cooler! - paulr
I wouldn't be surprised if McDonut pulls a surprise pre-game ceremony where Iginla takes off his Flames Jersey, lifts both arms high in the air and a Blackhawks jersey floats down from the rafters over Iginlas shoulder pads. |

Bob McKenzie is on record saying the Bruins will not trade Subban or Spooner in any deal involving Iginla. - paulr
Then that makes me want him to go to LA even more.
Though Chicago would be fine, if Stalberg, Bolland, and a conditional 2014 1st (or 2nd) if Iggy re-signs. That is more than I thought would be possible. |

...and I'm sorry to hear the Islander talk die so quickly. Mark Streit would do more for the Hawks than Iginla...in my opinion. |
