Just the ticket - glacial Brian Boyle not a HOF player like Jagr with 999 assists. Ask Claude Giroux who he'd rather have on his wing.
- RickJ

he would be a 4th line C -with size and faceoff ability - not old as dirt and I don't think he pulls a groin everytime he steps on the ice

Just saw that Moncton choked away a 3-1 lead after 2...

...lost to Victoriaville again 6-5 in OT

Actually, Moncton was up 5-1 with 7 minutes left.

Historic gag job....Danault with a bad third.

Go Steelies!!

Boys are showing some FIGHT. Stevie Larmer was there again to support his step son, who was a healthy scratch for Belleville.

Roar...don't take this personally...but i'm going off...y'all are entitled to your opinion...but John McDonough has been PHUCKING PHENOMENAL for our beloved franchise.

I was just reflecting on the Black Hole years between '97 and '08. McDonough and Rocky and Dale totally turned that GIANT PHUCKING BALL OF poop around....i believe they deserve RESPECT and not DERISION.

What's the problemo with John McD ? Please enlighten me.

- philco28

I take nothing personal, so no worries there. :thumbs up:

Been a Cub fan for too long, that kind of sets the stage, but its not so much about the history. Lets just examine the "value" to the brand of having celebs shoot the puck.

First of all, what is it?

Secondly, if anything, the choice of celebs can actually do more harm to a brand than good.

For me, an older school fan, intermission is for nothing but a wiener drain and another beer.

I heard Boston finally agreed to give them Subban or Spooner and that was it. Now hearing maybe not. Hawks did have a very nice offer on the table.

He often times meddled in the Cubs organization on the baseball side and made dexisions for profit over on the field product. Sometimes it seems he is doing the same with the Hawks. He has served his purpose though.
- mrpaulish

As far as marketing...kudos to McD but keep your nose where it belongs. If I'm a GM I shouldn't have to run every deal by you for your approval unless a lot of money is coming in......

Boyle would do well to pull both of his groins if it made him play like Jagr at 41. Solid 1G 1A on the year. Jagr hobbling along with only 14G on the year. You are comparing a Lada to a Mercedes my friend.

Cool Roar...thanks for the insights..guess we could argue about the validity of any promotion the Hawks try...but one thing that I was really proud to see was them visit Walter Reed in Washington last year.

To me, McD and co. are always trying to do decent things. The Bill Wirtz era was so bloody dark...that McD and his efforts are not only classy IMO...but a real breath of fresh air...compared to the medieval crud we all witnessed under the

can't help NYR suck this year - he was a key piece last year and played well.
I'm not begging for boyle - he was an example of someone that would fill holes on hawks
jagr - beyond his expiration date
hell, brunette had 12 goals last year

The root issue is that McD never seems content to be chief huckster - at which does do a decent job. Always wants more say/authority, and RECOGNITION for the performing success of the team he his chief huckster for.
