You'd take the cheaper, yet worse player? Why are you trying to save mlse's money for them and accepting a worse product.

I'd resign Bozak for 2 years at 7 million. Next year he won't be on the 1st line i can see Kadri there. So Bozak will be put in a better situation as the 3rd line center with probably still having decent wingers beside him. - Leafsfan9329
2 years is perfect. If he doesn't sign, oh well, colborne can possibly bang it out on the third at the start of next year. But definelty not third line if this team makes the dance. |

@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Spoke with one GM this morning who likes Jokinen and would have taken him if he was a pending UFA. Next year's $3 M on his deal scared teams
@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Salary cap is going down next season. Teams will choose carefully before adding to next year's payroll... |

He plays mainly centre now. He used to play on the wing with Staal. - faceto27
He mainly a Center that would have the 4th most faceoffs on the leafs? And if you count mclemment he'd be 5th.
Doesn't matter because no one wanted him. |

(frank) if Semin got 7M....Kessel's getting 8M for sure. - mykokes
Kessel isn't worth 8 Million, Unless we are trading away our Captain to save that money then I would give Kessel 8 Million and then Kadri the C. |

My guess is Kadri gets 5mil - Fruitcakenipple
That would be insane. But i really think the kadri scenario will pan out like a duchene or subban scenario. Not O'Rielly. I doubt kadri is greedy yet alone he's playing in a shortened season, not a full 82 game season. |

He might walk... or might resign for a decent price(no overpayment) because he likes it here? Who knows. - Mapleleafs_91
Maybe Bozak wants to be on 24/7, or maybe Bozak doesn't have the nuts to break up with Kessel yet. |

They aren't in sell mode, they're trimming the fat. Wouldn't be surprised if they are desperately shopping Havlat. |

or the same. Its cause teams like carolina cant sign players, so they overpay Overpaid to bring him in on a one year contract, and over pay him when hes playing good in a shortened season. Its tough for the hurricanes to bring in players. For the past couple years, they have not made any significant signing other than semin for offense, they pretty much remain the same |

only the one year under his belt..
he will be looking at a subban like contract.. short.. and a bit on the cheap..
risky to go that way for the leafs tho.. cause you either give him his payday now or you play the short terms low pay card and risk losing him
i say (frank) it.. 5 years at 4mill.
20million dollar contract coming off his ELC.. thats pretty damn good.. considering he has yet to prove he can play a full 82 game sched at the NHL level |

Check the tsn trade page....talking about Boyle and Burns in the rumour section. Also, do you think Doug Murray's a 6th d? And hold up, so the Pens gave up two potential 2nd round picks for a 6th d? And you have an issue with the Leafs getting a 2nd round pick potentially more for Bozak? |

If Colbourne isn't ready and Bozak Walks you just make McClement the 3rd line center and then fill the 4th line Center with another grinder to play in the middle of Mclaren and Komarov.
Either way if Bozak does or does not walk i feel comfortable with Kadri, Grabo, McClement or Kadri, Grabo, Bozak, McClement. |

It's not a bad place to live.. at least North Carolina is nice. As a hockey market the team is actually pretty good, you'd be surprised. |
