Good point, TPC. A little short on pk guys now. - Pete V
Yea vg point. Boyle isn't sitting if powe sits. I think this lineup should stay intact till further notice.
I think they eased up off the throttle here tho |

If Philly found a way to come back and win their first game of the season, after trailing after 20, Cranny might take a hostage. For the safety of everyone in his proximity, i'll be cheering for NY in the third. - WayneZ
don't worry ... we haven't come from 2 back in the 3rd in at least 40 years. |

Personally, I would rather not have Nash on the PK getting in the way of slapshots from the point. That's a nightmare waiting to happen. |

You can't fault him on that. That was not a penalty. The two guys inadvertently bumped and Read helped buy the call. - gkmkiller
Doesn't matter, the end doesn't justify the means with Boyle. Can't skate, doesn't hit, can't fight, doesn't score and is overrated when it comes to faceoffs. |

I agree, the last thing the Rangers need is Nash taking one off the ankle like Callahan a couple of years back.

He hasn't been very good this year but I actually think he's been good tonight. |

Why is Nash on the pk?
Torts fired - Slimtj100
I agree. With a 3-0 lead, you put your top goal scorer on the penalty kill???
Just don't relax into a prevent defense style yet Torts with still another period left. We are now being outshot actually in the game after a 13-6 S.O.G. deficit in the 2nd; espacially after the Richards (that's correct!) powerplay goal. |

Interesting decisions to be made soon. Powe b/c of his ability to kill penalties is key...so either Boyle centers the 4th and Newbs goes down or Boyle sits. Although you can kill penalties. Boyle hasn't been awful on the wing tonight to be fair but 2 periods does not make amends the penalty taken notwithstanding... |

well nash has played pk his whole career i think and scores a ton of shorthanded goals (had at least 1 this season i think).
might not be worth the risk tho. |

aren't you guys like 60 - 0 - 3 or something when leading after 2, under Torts?
not sure if that's the right stat, but I remember it being pretty damn impressive. |

Yeh, tough decisions. But your fourth liners need to be able to kill penalties, and I would rather give up a little in terms of offense from the 4th line, to have guys that can do that. |

Newbury over Boyle, it's actually a no brainier. Just a 6ft 7in pile of garbage Boyle is. |

Yeh, I am not saying he's not good at it, but I would limit his usage on the PK to times where they really need to play some offense a man down. Otherwise, he's just too important to take the risk. |

Funny how when we out shoot the opponent it means nothing here but when we get outshot the shyt hits the fan. Simply remarkable |

I'm happy btw that the peg is moving west. They are building quite a team there |

I've been saying for atleast 2 weeks to bring back the Hagelin, Stepan, Nash line... Thank god my dream has been realized. - aecliptic
I agree. Isn't it sad that Torts did that to try to get help for Gabby to play better at Left Wing still; instead of keeping him as what he is; a Right Winger? |
