Well San Jose has a HUGE decision to make. Either A) go for it now cause u have guys over 30 like Thorton, Marleau & Boyle & trade some youth to take a shot at the cup or B) trade those older guys cause there value will be the highest at the deadline & build the future with guys like Couture.

As Caps fans we always laugh at these rumors because we know Leonsis will never have the balls to trade him unless he's playing like garbage and teams won't take on his contract unless he's playing like a superstar. For all the grief he gets he's leading the league in PP goals and is on a 46 goal 55 assist pace over an 82 game season. Translation: not playing poor enough to be dealt.

IMO they need to trade away their old vets and build around guys Pavelski, Couture and Burns. Free up some major cap space and acquire young talent for a quick rebuild(since they'll already have a decent established core and lots of money to spend in that scenario).
