For the love of God! Ray was on the top defensive pairing and logged almost 30 minutes a game for the avalanche in the playoffs. It is obvious to anyone that knows hockey that the avalanche would not have won the Cup if it was not for Ray being on that team. And who gives a flying phluck about age, 39 but still elite.
Im sorry, but if you want a couple fourth liners and a third liner, i bet we can make that happen. Then we can turn around and trade our youth for third and fourth liners and that would be fine with me.
But you want Subban THE top goalie prospect in North America, a TOP six forward from the lineup that won a Cup two years ago. From a team that many have as a favorite in the east and a CUP run???
Ray Bourque is arguably the next best defense man behind BOBBY ORR, screw off Lindstrom Homers, I love Iggy and I want the B's to try to grab him. But at the cost of CUP runs for the next decade.
Ill stick with our odds now. And based on Calgary over the last forever many years......I think our GM has a pretty good grasp on what he should do. You hold onto Iggy and have your hopes crumble for the next five years. AGAIN. - JIwasinskiJr

When did I ever say I wanted Subban. Best goalie prospect in NA, not so sure of that. |

Some turd posted on twitter that he "is hearing" Bouwmeester to Philly for Read and Gustafsson...
I may not be totally opposed to that deal. Thoughts. |

No interest in Gustafsson, personally. Read is a good start. |

Not much of a market for him unless Calgary either retains a portion of his salary OR throws in a 2nd round pick, neither of which Feaster will do.
COL would like to add a guy like JBO but Calgary would not trade within its own division UNLESS the price was ridiculous. COL is not a cap team so they rely heavily on draft development and won't pay Feasters price.
Look for MTL to try and work something out for JBO. These teams have a history with the Bourque for Cammalleri trade which worked out well for both teams.
Assuming Calgary doesnt retain salary or include a high pick, I think you can expect something like this.
To MTL: Jay Bouwmeester, 4th round pick.
To CGY: Yannick Weber, Tomas Kaberle, 3rd round pick. - Hecklund
Colorado and Calgary won't be in the same division next year. |

I don't see the use of Whitney in Montreal. They have Subban, Markov and Diaz who are offensive. They need a big, tough, mean 4-6th D. - Champ

Quick Update:
PHI: Homer is a guy who "goes big or goes home". He is trying for a massive deal with some Central and NW division teams but the asking price from his end is too high. Homer will not part with Couturier, either Schenn or Voracek and is reluctant to move Simmonds. Philly is basically suffering from EDM syndrome where they expect to make big deals without parting with anything another team would want.
If Philly is in the mix, look for them to make a play on Brendan Morrow, Sheldon Souray or Tomas Kaberle. They could really use some veteran grit, a shutdown defenceman and a skilled puckmover.
OTT: Bryan Murray really wants to reward his team for sticking around despite a rash of injuries. Look for him to try and reacquire some old faces...hint hint Martin Havlat, Wade Redden...who could be had for next to nothing.

I am going to start reverse rumors.. going on Twitter under assumed ID's I will refute that Toronto has any interest in any player that is remotely decent.
Example:
Brad Boyes : St. Louis would love to get in on Boyes. The Toronto Maple Leafs have absolutely no interest.

50% of people who post how overrated J Bo is are basing on him playing shutdown role under sutter.... Talk to any flames fan who actually watch him this year and most of them don't mind his remaining contract for how he is playing.... No where close to the player he was past years in cgy - Redmile247
I don't watch much of Calgary, but i wouldn't doubt it. He's always had the potential to be a good defenseman, and all it takes is one moment to change everything for the better. Whether its a change of role, a realization of ability, or what have you, a guy like Bouwemeester answering to critics isn't the most shocking improbable circumstance when it comes to professional sports. Players prove ppl wrong everyday in every sport, its what made them professionals in the first place. |

He started off really good, it's not as if he can't turn things around. Players like that take time. Development is a real thing. |

Oh, so COL just gave away 4 solid assets to be nice to Ray Bourque. Seriously dude, give your head a shake. That is the dumbest comment on this entire thread. - TandA4Flames
Avs got two players in the deal. They didn't give up 4 assets just for Bourque. If you want to tell me that you think Iginla resigns with Boston and then is in the hunt for the Hart trophy then maybe I'd consider more than a prospect and a pick. |

Thought under the new CBA any team finishing out of the playoffs had an equal chance at it? I probably misunderstood that.. |

You're soooo lost. Lindstom isn't better than Ray "had to leave the bruins to win a cup" Bourque? HAHAHA Lidstrom NEVER missed the playoffs and won multiple cups without having to leave his organization to jump on the backs of Sakic and Forsberg. GTFO. And this is coming from an oiler fan who firmly believes Coffee is better than Bourque. Lindstrom is arguably the greatest defender to ever live. |
